I seriously don't think it's illegal to post screenshots of Windows that simply show the UI of it. There are other images on the wiki that do this too. Unless you can post an explicit place where it says this isn't allowed, I'm pulling off the delete tag, but if it somehow is true, I'll re-upload a version without Windows showing, so don't just delete it. ~FarloTalk 02:29, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Please see GWW:COPY and look at the list of compatible content sources. Screenshots of Microsoft Windows are not public domain, GFDL or Arenanet so they may not be uploaded here. — Indochine talk 10:50, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well that's just absurd, but I guess you're right. Give me a bit and I'll put up a new screenshot. Please tell me the dropdown menu doesn't count, otherwise the image is going to be very hard to make. I dug on Wikpedia, and I found these templates: 1 and 2. Wouldn't either of these work as rationale, or does it not matter under the GWW's policies? ~FarloTalk 16:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Arenanet have made it very clear that copyrighted content (excluding GFDL and Arenanet content) is not permitted on the wiki. Unfortunately that means the solution Wikipedia uses is not acceptable here; neither is fair use. I suppose the dropdown would be acceptable because it is just a screenshot of text, and that cannot be copyrighted. As long as you keep the graphics out of the shot it should be fine. — Indochine talk 20:05, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
