Cany anyone help me please?

I uploaded this image (Hyperion in brown) for one of my character pages, Hyperion, and then I tried to upload a new version (Hyperion in blue). On the page for Hyperion, it now displays the new image (blue) but when I select it, it loads up this page, displaying the old image (brown). The history confirms that I uploaded another image but shows the old image instead of the new image I uploaded.

This has also happened to me once or twice in the past. Back then I was a lot less familiar with wiki and cared less about how I got my images up and why or how it/I was messing up. I used to just re-upload new versions untill all the images were the same, But now I want to know where and how Im going wrong.

In my curiosity I did begin to try to upload a new version again to see if everything went the same as the first time I re-uploaded. I select "Upload a new version of this file", then "Browse" to find the new one (Hyperion in blue) again, flagged the correct "Image use:" and "Licensing settings" options and clicked "Upload File". I was then presented with a "Upload warning" saying "A file with this name exists already..... etc" and "This file is a duplicate of the following file" with a picture of the first image underneath (Hyperion in brown). It then left me with two options, in short, carry on regardless or cancel upload. So, appently, I some how created a duplicate of the first image and uploaded the second image at the same time.

So now im well baffled. How did I upload the new image but without any trace of it (not that I can find anyway) and how did I make a duplicate and why aren't the two images matching up? Titan Crow 17:45 26 August 2009 (UTC)

It is a problem with the image cache on the server. It often takes an hour or more for new versions to show up, and if you do it too quickly, it just gets worse. It might be easiest to upload a version with a slightly different name, as this appears to be stuck. <edit> I just purged the cache in my browser (ctrl+F5) and now I see the blue version. -- Wyn talk 17:49, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
