Starting Character (Discussion)
Let the starting character be a 13 year old child. It will be in the game when a player starts a new character but after the first 24 hours of play (or after doing a specific mission / quest") the character will be aged to the one you created in the beginning (as described above)(25-35 years old)
- Why this is a good idea
- New players / characters will live to their name "new"
- There is great to see "children" in the game. (variation of population, also realistic)
- New players will have a very "weird feeling" when they see the other "old" characters.
- Allowing aging of the character till 40 years old (as suggested in other page)
(stopping aging will be due to a magic energy gained in the story - not much to change, it will be like the "infusion" mission)
- Learning how to play the game will be more realistic (at least visually)
- "Old" characters will want / won't want to help the "children", which will force the "children" to make "friends" of their "age" (a veteran player having a new "child" character will be able to teach a "real" new player the game mechanics without disconspiring his "age" and "experience")
- Why it may not work out
- Players want to look powerful from the start (vanity fair :D)
- To much programing? no, because the "children" will have all similar looks but the cloths will be those for the character created, only smaller sizes: Kid Warrior, Kid Elememtalist...
- Possible hardness to make parties
