Final Dragon Boss (Discussion)
The final boss of Guild Wars 2 should be one of the dragons that woke up in Eye of the North(or after). He should be an intelligent and powerful entity that only elite PvE'ers could tackle. There would be numerous quests and world events that would have to be completed by your party before you can attempt to fight him. And everytime you kill him you should be awarded some piece of very good loot that can be choosen from a totally random long list of items(say 10-20). Once you complete the quest you can attempt to kill the dragon as many times as you want. If you kill him enough then you can get every single item on the list and then after that maybe just get money. If you do it with less people the randomized list of items will be slightly better. For example if you killed him with 10 people you would get to pick one from an insanely good list. If you did it with 20 the list might not be as good. He should be extremely difficult and the fight should take twenty to thirty minutes to complete depending on how many people are in the party. In order to assure that this dragon doesn't get farmed over and over and over he should be extremely difficult to kill and can only be killed with aid from the Gods (or something along those lines). The fight could involve battling his minions then fighting him, then having him retreat for awhile as minions attack again. And repeat over and over until you force him to his base where he makes a last stand and you finally kill him.
- Why this is a good idea
- This would be a great idea because people like to be challenged in PvE and in original Guild Wars once a mission was completed there would be little reason to complete it again. With more loot as an incentive maybe more people will be inclined to do higher level PvE.
- It would be an alternative way to obtain powerful items as opposed to simply crafting all armor.
- Why it may not work out
- Too similar to WoW in high end raiding.
- Loot system might not work, could just be a grind fest for items.
