Get them. For everything. Log every single aspect of Guild Wars 2 that you possibly can. Log skills used. Log monsters killed. Log time spent in areas. Log item drops. Log damage dealt, taken, healed, and prevented. Log the amount of time it takes me to realize that I'm using a sword with an axe bar. Why log everything? Because right now you're clueless. You're flying blind. You had to revert a skill change because you didn't know how many people in your own game were using it and you made a bad decision based on that lack of knowledge. People get banned because of vindictive assholes and shoddy or nonexistent chat logs. It (apparently) takes the balance team months of focused research to decide whether or not a skill or mechanic is unbalanced or clumsy or unnecessary when they should already have all the information they need to make a decision.
Terabyte HDDs are available for under 150USD right now, and they'll be even cheaper and bigger by the time GW2 is done. There aren't a whole lot of reasons you shouldn't have immense stores of data to answer any questions you might find yourselves having.
