Guild Wars 2 Suggestions

(Discussion)

In GW2, there could be a way of changing your character overall when choosing your 2 professions. For example a warrior/monk could become a paladin, or say a ranger/assasin a theif. There could just be these names and appearances for these multi classes instead of just having the 2 professions. These variations of class could have different armour styles and overall body appearances. In addition to this, there could also be class unique attributes and skills. Imagine a warrior/assasin, it could be more a samurai, with lower armour and health but higher speed and attack. And a special skill could be a cricital hit.Another idea could be proffesion combination skills such as warrior/dervish a cresent moon sword skill maybe?

Why this is a good idea
  • More variation to characters, such as different appearances and armours for the different variations of a class.
  • More variation to the way the game is played and tactics used.
  • Answer for -what would a warrior/ranger be called?- Barbarian =DD
  • E/W ...."BattleMage" FTW! I'd play that!
Why it may not work out
  • Loopholes could expose more powerful combanations.
  • A damn whole lot more to program and animate.
  • Have to create a bunch of classes for crazy combinations for example, what would a warrior/ranger be called?
  • If you're going to have different armour art/body styles then it's nearly a different profession, albeit just borrowing skills from other classes. That's 64 different 'classes' constituting 64 names, 640 different armour arts (There were about 10-12 different armours per profession in prophecies alone, not to include the now appx. 30 armour arts which would mean 1,920 armour arts by the time they included three expansions).
  • There would be a lot of work going into armour/skills/names that people would never use - how many people use a E/W? Me/P?
  • Only useful if very limited, otherwise you just get say 56 extra classes. A few cross-class skills might be nice, but not much more than that.
