Armor Pieces of the Gods (Discussion)
Allow each of the 6 gods to have their own armor set and unique weapon that can be acquired by players. Each piece can look like a glob of ectoplasm but have its color associated to that god to make it easy to tell apart. Every God's piece should correspond to the professions that they are responsible for. Here is a list of conditions about Armor pieces of the Gods and their weapons:
- They should be moddable with an extremely high damage rating (weapon)
- Should be able to have numerous mods on it
- Should carry a variety of one-of-a-kind skills depending on the God
- If a character manages to collect all the pieces of the god's armor, they will take their appearance.
- Allow the weapon to be displayed in towns
These pieces should be found in a very hard elite mission reward chest, or a low-drop rate in every God's challenge (in order for this to happen, each god needs their own realm.) Here are some examples of what the pieces of armor can do:
- Dwayna: Give health regen but lower if it is a legging; higher on the chest and perhaps heal others if placed on the head. Grant healing bonuses as a weapon and allow for Air Magic to have a percentage chance to ignore armor altogether.
- Balthazar: Increased movement on legs, higher attack speed on hands and natural increased armor.
- Grenth: Have chance to hex all foes if on head. Can cause different conditions on foes for every different body part.
- Why this is a good idea
- makes characters look distinguished
- promotes elitism
- because all proffesions can interchange armor (OF THEIR RACE AND GENDER) in GW2.
- Why it may not work out
- subject to scamming
- unbalanced in both PvE and PvP
- promotes elitism
- makes many characters look the same, since if those armors have better stats than everything else, everyone would want to have them.
- promotes grind
- extremely rare, mechanically superior equipment would encourage real money trading.
- only having six sets and making each set profession-specific would exclude the other professions.
