SniperFox's Issue -- 12:54, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Issue
- This skill, combined with dual shot or forked shot is the workhorse of rangerspikes.
- This skill combines extra damage, an interrupt and increased attack speed. Making it far superior when compared to other bow attacks.
- Suggestion
- Change the skill to lower the abuse, giving it an interupt focus instead of damage focus.
- 10 ½ 6
- Bow attack. If Savage Shot hits, your target's action is interrupted. If that action was a Spell, you strike for +13...25...28 damage. This attack deals half damage when no skill is interrupted.
I agree, overall bow DPS needs to be increased while NOT encouraging range spike
- Issue
- Prevents bow damage from being buffed because of range spike
- Suggestion
- Increase conditional damage to 15...39...45, add "this arrow does 50% less base damage.". This encourages use as an interrupt while nerfing range spike.
Too spammable
- Issue
- This skill is highly spammable, meaning you can combine it with Distracting Shot or even Magebane Shot for mindless near-constant interrupts. It also interrupts and has conditional extra damage, which lends itself to ranger spike.
- Suggestion 1
- Re-balance this skill a bit so that it's less spammable and requires a bit more skill to use.
- Savage Shot. 10 ½ 8 .
- Bow Attack. If Savage Shot hits, your target's action is interrupted. If that action was a Spell, you strike for +13...25...28 damage and that spell is disabled for 5 seconds. If your target was not using a skill, Savage Shot deals 25% less damage.
- A change like this would force players to use it as an interrupt so as to get the most out of it.
- Suggestion 2
- This is a slightly more radical suggestion inspired by the name:
- Savage Shot. 10 ½ 6 .
- Bow Attack. Savage Shot flies twice as fast but has a 30...18...15% chance to miss. If it hits it deals +2...8...10 damage and interrupts your target's action. If that action was a Spell, you strike for a further +12...18...20 damage.
- The idea behind this is that the skill becomes a powerful, quick-striking skill which is as much about damage as interrupting. However, the small miss chance means that you sacrifice reliablitiy (especially interrupting reliability), which balances out the greater power and also means it's not ideal for spiking (since you also need a bit of luck).
Agreed it is far Too Spammable
- Issue
- I agree with the statement above. I am rather tired of seeing nothing but rangers mashing 1,2,3,4 then repeating.
- Suggestion
- Why not make the cool down conditional to if they can interrupt or not. Have a condition like, "If target foes action was a spell, skill recharges in 5 seconds, otherwise it takes 10 to 15 seconds to recharge."
Doesn't need a nerf
- Issue
- No issue. It's only borderline overpowered at most. Most rangers run 9 or 12 expertise, so that's 5 or 6 energy per savage shot. The penalty for being bad at interrupts and just spamming this is an empty energy bar. With 12 expertise, you effectively lose your energy regeneration if you spam this as often as possible. I can only see problems with this if used with broken skills that give you infinite energy or imbalanced pressure skills that allow bad players to cheat at the game
- Suggestion
- Don't change this. This is a baseline ranger skillm along with dshot that ranger interrupts should be balanced around.72.71.229.129 18:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Comments & Suggestions Here, Please
- Issue
- This is too easily spammed, especially when used in conjunction with Distracting Shot. No matter what their level of Expertise, Rangers hardly ever have to worry about Energy and will usually gain enough benefit from spamming this skill as it currently is to equal out the Energy loss. A slight increase in the recharge should slow down the barrage of interrupts on the Ranger's target if they choose to spam, but shouldn't hurt someone who times their interrupts well.
- Suggestion
- Bow Attack. Interrupts an action. Interruption effect: deals +13...25...28 damage.
