Lancy1214 -- -Active Rituals-

- -useless if not used properly, overpowered if used properly

- Suggestion
10 1 20 - (Communing) - Binding Ritual. "Create a level 1...8...10 Spirit. Every 3 seconds, one random foe within earshot is crippled for 1...5...6 seconds. Knocked down foes within Earthbind's earshot are crippled for 1...5...6 seconds. Earthbind lasts 15 seconds." For every 3 ranks in Spawning Power, Earthbind lasts 3 seconds longer.--Lancy1214 23:06, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Reason
- Maintain a degree of synergy with Wanderlust and Trappers, and a general purpose snare for PvE.
Clunky skill
- Issue
- Same as above. Also, the 5 cast time makes it really hard to use. That combined with its quick dying due to health loss and loooong recharge make it pretty poor except in well-planned situations (where it can sometimes be OP).
- Suggestion
- Make it a bit easier to use. To balance this it might have to be made so that it dies more easily, but with a lower cast time and recharge it wouldn't matter so much since you could recast it.
- Earthbind. 15 3 30
- Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...7...8 Spirit. All non-Spirit foes knocked down within its range are knocked down for at least 3 seconds and take 5...29...35 Earth damage. Whenever this happens, this Spirit loses 50...30...25 Health. This Spirit dies after 10...22...25 seconds.
- Here the skill has a much faster activation and recharge, but to compensate is a slightly lower level (so it dies quicker from health loss and is easier to kill) and dies after only 10-25 seconds instead of 15-45.
- I liked the idea of Crippling, as suggested above, but felt that adding this would make the skill a bit too OP so put in a small amount of earth damage instead, in a Brambles-like manner (I reckon this and Brambles could have quite a good synergy, which ofc would be even better if a short Cripple was added, since the two effects would cover each other).
- An alternate with Crippling (though this may be slightly OP in the right situations):
- Earthbind. 15 4 30
- Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...7...8 Spirit. All non-Spirit foes knocked down within its range are knocked down for at least 3 seconds and Crippled for 2...6...7 seconds. Whenever this happens, this Spirit loses 60...36...30 Health. This Spirit dies after 10...22...25 seconds.
