ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Extraxi
So to discuss it here as well, have some questions/remarks, care to answer and give your opinion? 1) Are you assuming no existing professions, core professions, or all existing professions to come back? In the last case, this would probably not mix with assassin, dervish and paragon since it takes many of their special tricks. 2) Dragon lineage would probably get too complicated, also since its kinda like a race one would say. Is it needed? 3) If taking existing skills etc as baseline, a lot in here seems rather overpowered, don't you think? 4) Are the new mechanics necessary? Particularly if theyre pretty much the same as existing ones, it just clutters up things. Thanks in advance for a reply!--217.122.225.60 12:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
1. hope to see all back n.n Extraxi don't gain energy from criticaling, losing enchants and uhhh... no echos/shouts/throwing spear dealies so far, you'll have to actually be the one to land the final strike if you wanna profit from Drake Soul's passive. 2. You've never heard of a character being born with small active/dormant elements of Dragon Blood o.o? I suddenly feel elderly, but no it needs no race of it's own. 3. not essentially, these are only first stage and can/will be edited to contour to most needs of the nerfgun (Malevolent pike I'm staring at you, which isn't on this page... please point out which skill(s) please that'd be aweshom~ n.n). 4. There's no Longspear user yet, I feel this type of spear can be powerful, still nothing broken like a scythe, finishers and bonus effects trigger only once only bonus damage will be inputed into pierce/brandish, the adrenal gain bonus might be completely removed, other than that no class gains a natural base armor bonus (low to begin with) and no others actually have to be the one in the party to land a finishing hit to benefit which I think is yet to be done apart from a few situational Necro skills.
Could make for some interesting lore too. Nikdanbro 15:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply! Well I think (1) the weapon is just too close to a 'fixed' scythe in effect, and shadowstep is typically sin (if vault is the same), so it might be greatly a D/A and make either or both rather unspecial. (2) I've heard the concept, I meant it is complicated since dragons are bad guys. Probably shouldnt be too strongly part of a good guy, also since its not their actual race. Maybe servants of Glint/Kuuni? (3) Agreed. The 'breath' skills for instance deal 300 AoE dmg in 5 secs, even much for a nuker. Lesser Soul Discharge and -Toil also add up a lot (plus trine assault?). Vault seems a lot stronger than shadowsteps now. But like you said thats what nerfguns are for xD. Energy for finishing blow is likely useless in parties or overpowered when solo'ing... can this be overcome? (4) No big problems on those, main issue is Soul Cage and Vault. Maybe some explanation on those, why theyre special, why useful and how they work exactly. How is Vault different from ShadowStep? Would people simply get 3 SoulCages and then use it just for the bonus damage/effects? It's a nice idea but think it could use some extra describing. Thanks again, and to be clear, I like the idea, thats why I'd love to see it worked out a bit more! --Tenshi Samshel 17:03, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Somebody has way too much free time. lol. But still, decent idea. I just don't know about the name...way to many syllables.
Aye definetly name changing n.n descriprion re-writing, missing out on everything at the moment while incapacitated xD investing time in games for the win Nikdanbro 20:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Your skill lists are definitely very unique and well thought of. Good job and keep up the good work, my Lancer will be definitely competing with ya! :) --PCGamer07 00:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Moved from /scratchpad
Not sure if this is where I add such a thing... For the past few moments I have been working out an idea for a new profession to add either into GW2 or some generic expansion to cash in on GW1... unoficially for both ovcourse xDDD
I guess I just put what I have so far on my Userpage? Everything so far needs a little tweaking (Spear name changed to Halberd/Longspear as to not confuse it with what should be called a throwing spear, The current name etc)... I'll put it on my user page for now to see what you all think of it Nikdanbro 07:50, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Suggest it here. I want a Swashbuckler personally. On that note, I want a Puppetmaster but don't get your hopes up. Spawnlegacy 11:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, no hopes to see an actual Longspear wielding class in either GW1/2 ... just to pass free time xD, I guess I'll transfer from my user's page Nikdanbro 12:11, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
I want to see a Swashbuckler for sure, and have Paragons actually don't throw their spears. Plus, remake the idea of assasins completely and make it so they are high armored dudes that use crossbows... how about that? Lord Snealon 23:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Hehehheahha armored assassins with crossbow mastery. Genius! Spawnlegacy 21:04, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Sets like Acient already have Assassins in way to much armor xD Nikdanbro 22:10, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry I wasn't logged in before. Well I did now anyways... But you do like the idea of armored assassins with crossbows?Lord Snealon 23:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Not as such no.
Moved talk
How about we leave assassins as they are and introduce the heavy ranger? Then it might reduce confusion over how little assassinating an armored guy with a crossbow does. Spawnlegacy 06:47, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I always thought of an assasin as a person who sneeks around and kills someone from far away. So the crossbow would shoot really slow, but inflict more damage, anyways, many people want to get rid of assasins, why not recreate them? Lord Snealon 19:47, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- All in all seems like a nice idea to add to the core professions but needs some working out, and probably some nerfs.
- Can someone say Dragoon from Final Fantasy series? The Extraxi has are lineage to dragons which are like the Dragoons from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Vault is just like Jump in Final Fantasy. Igeous Breath is kind of like Fire Breath which is one of the Dragoon's attacks.
- How is that a con? In my original guild forum post it pretty much stated that it had heavy influence from the FF drg =], Regardless I don't see how it might not work o.o;
Updates daily till Complete
7. Changed Hextuple Assail to Trine Assail as for now it only hits 3 times... kinda sounds pretty bad now... but if MoP was in GW2 the damage would have been to much...
6. Lowered spear attack speed. For newest info check userpage n.n
5. Hopefully finalizing Vault changes, The reason it's not in Spear Mastery is for Anti-Expertise abuse Reasons, Drake Soul still makes sense... Dragoons are known to jump extremely high in parkour.
4. Changing various texts which were before-hand mt. Also considering what is rather underpowered (The Vault skills currently have me baffled, definetly expect further buffs)
3. Starting to add Spear Mastery skills n.n
2. Buffed Vault Skill damage (not bonus)
1. Updated Mew Finesse
