Gold more valuable?
How exactly does this idea increase the value of gold? If you flood the economy with hard currency, then everyone will have enough money to buy everything, and the economy will eventually die due to lack of demand. --

- Currency is not fixed at one value. The more you have, the less worth its got. I hate using this example, but its like raising minimum wage. Sure, you get more money in that paycheck of yours, but you'll be paying that much more becuase people will be selling for that much higher. --

- Right, but I was making the point that it would decrease the value of currency, not increase it. If the availability of goods (in this case, loot) is the same, but the amount of currency in the market (the GW community) is increased, then more currency will be used to buy the same product. Do you see where I'm coming from here? --

- Yes, drop rates should be increased and I also think that they should eliminate splitting loot btween heroes(not fellow players). Yes, if you suddenly flood the market with a large amount of currency it decreases the value of that currency, but right now it is so hard for players to get money by farming increasing that the drop rate would be benificial to players. Also the pay off for quests is dropping. In the past several months they have reduced drop rates and quest pay out so dramatically(and not decreased the ycost of items, but increased it) that is can be very hard for starting players to begin the game.
- I don't think that everything should be available from merchants. Basic weapons should be available, but rare, high power weapons should be dropped in high difficulty areas so that player to player trade is maintained for weapons.

I don't get the disadvantages people who don't bring henchies with them comment. If you don't bring henchies you would get everything, and if you go with other people it would be unfair to them if you got everything. 70.67.146.192 00:15, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
