I agree with this idea, though maybe ArenaNet should make it to where PvP characters may have a max defense/damage version of the items, so you may wear a yule cap and have higher attributes and armor at the same time.

Pretty sure Linsey said somewhere that ANet prefers things to be kept the way they are, precisely because "GW is srs bsns" and so players ought to be punished for running around with silly gear. Vili 01:39, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
