I think this skill is pretty interesting and has alot of potential. I've seen people pull off some amazing things with it, but it's too hard to use in the current metagame. Interrupts are much stronger than they were when this game was released and this skill has not seen a single buff since then. I also think the visual effect is badly in need of improvement. It's the ugliest most pathetic looking skill in the game, hands down. --TimeToGetIntense 10:52, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just about every Elementalist spell with 3 seconds casting time can be considered unsuitable for PvP. You might get it off a few times, but don't get your hopes up. That is why I asked for a reduction at Churning Earth, and that is why I'll support a reduction for this spell too. Nicky Silverstar 16:30, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I use it sometimes. It would def be better if it had a lower recharge, but the cast time should stay pretty high so it's not a damage dealing Gale.
- Also, this is a game balance page. "Animations looking cooler" is not a balance suggestion, it's a flavor choice and a completely different department does that. ~Shard (talk / Nerf List) 00:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- 3 second cast isn't viable anymore. A 2 second cast Meteor would not be like Gale + Damage. You can interrupt some things with Gale and cast it on shorter notice for quick snares/disables. You'd still use Meteor differently than Gale. As far as the animation, well I don't want to make a whole different issue of it on some other page. I don't even know where the proper place would be for it. Is it really such a big deal to toss in that side note? The animation really does suck. >.< --TimeToGetIntense 06:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Plus the fact that it still has to come down to earth when it is cast, making it essentially a 4 seconds spell. With 2 seconds casting, it would still take 3 seconds to hit it's target. Nicky Silverstar 08:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- It seems to take about a half second to land, imo. The issue with the 3 second cast is really just interrupts though. I don't have a problem with the amount of time invested vs. damage + KD of this skill right now. It's decent because it has a small AoE for potentially devestating effects. Go ahead, buff this. Make it one second cast, no exhaustion, ect. It is still countered by movement and 30 sec rec :/. --Readem 13:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I suggested 20 second recharge. Also, it's only countered by moving faster than normal. --TimeToGetIntense 22:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's countered by movement with speed boosts only. I think it's fine as-is, really, it's seen usage in niche roles. Dropping the cast to 2 seconds is begging for abuse on Mesmers. Recharge buff might be OK. Riotgear 12:21, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see how. If you just want the KD GoE + gale is way better, and it's not like most mesmer templates can spec high enough in fire to make the damage matter. The 3sec cast is what kills this skill, IMO. --Symbol 13:49, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

- Someone on Guru suggested giving Meteor a 3s KD. I really like that actually, it gives some flavor to the skill, makes it very strong if you time it well, and it's impossible to abuse with 30r. So how about 2s cast, 3s KD, everything else stays the same? --Symbol 12:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
