sry wring mistake its nd is should right ;) youre right Lilondra 12:58, 31 March 2008 (UTC) Opinions about the suggestion pls :p Lilondra 12:58, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- 1/2 second Mind Burn would be bad for the game. Encouraging more spikes is a bad idea. --TimeToGetIntense 10:46, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
If you are afraid it would become to powerfull in a mb spike i dont think so,currently AR does about the same when you want to spike.
- It would still suck, but people might start running Mind Burn spike which would be a bad thing. Any caster spike is bad for the game. This skill should be changed so it's a versitile solid skill that you can bring one copy of and be effective not only for spikes. --TimeToGetIntense 11:54, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
It would be effective in spikes btw :o.Just cast for example rodgort follow by mind burn for a decent spike.Lilondra 15:39, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- I understand that. What I am saying is that promoting caster spikes is bad for the game. Any changes made to this skill should be in a different direction, not improving its spiking capability. --TimeToGetIntense 15:48, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Well the point is that its fairly useless now,and the effect is not worth the exhaustion,a knockdown and a snare are far better utility at using it at the sacrifice of exhaustion is acceptable but burning is just well weak.Lilondra 10:14, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Even for a flagrunner exhaustion is hard to cope with, also it loses most of its strength (else its just a 15 enegy immolate 5 active 10 passive)when youre energy gets low.I updated my suggestion lowering the damage and having a higher benefit when youre energy is higher.Lilondra 10:18, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Why don't we just drop the exhaustion, and bump it up to a 15 second recharge? Encourage its use in spikes, since thats what its oriented for. Its not effective for spiking eles down, and the mass damage would only come if the ele wasn't being e-denied or shut down. Since the damage hits in 2 separate packets, it slides nicely under spirit bond. I dont see why we shouldn't encourage the use of a elite skill in a caster spike. --Angelic Loki 05:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Thats actually what my suggestion is but i thought it was to OP,anyway 15 recharge is to high to be effective in spikes 10-12 should do fine.Lilondra 07:44, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Caster spikes are degenerate and one dimentional. --TimeToGetIntense 01:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Look at what they did to Lightning Orb--Ryudo 01:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- The Lightning Orb change did not encourage people to run 5 Eles/3 Monks and do caster spikes. It did improve the skill in some important ways, but in good ways. --TimeToGetIntense 09:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I think that pure caster spikes are... unoriginal, I'll admit. But I think that people wont normally run a caster spike that requires an elite unless they can kill very fast with it (ala Searing Flames). I think that this gives ele's a awesome fire elite thats pure spike as opposed to pressure (SF, unless you pre-burn) or e-management (Mind Blast), or even AoE (Savanah). I think that its just as powerful with that buff, but used for a different purpose. I could see 12 seconds, or even 8 since the second damage packet is conditional, but since using 5-6 eles with a single elite really reduces your utility, I dont think that it would ever work as a spike build. Invoke is just as powerful as the proposed buff to this, but its not run because forcing an elite loses a lot of utility --Angelic Loki 01:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
/agree :)
Thx the idea is just to have a quickcasting spell in the 1st suggestion (you still have aftercast!) and a lenghty burn wich can be usefull to cap out the degen.(if you get rid of there rc they are going to get some heavy pressure).Lilondra 13:20, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Once a powerful spike elite becomes strong enough, you don't need utility anymore. You just kill the enemy too fast. --TimeToGetIntense 05:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- True, which will make them MUCH easier to kill. Meanie, while they try to kill you fast, they die much faster then the skill recharges to kill. --Angelic Loki 10:16, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Using this in a spike is counterable (gvg you got gank,infuse,soa,.. and in ha you got infuse, soa etc)just like sf spike. To much damage i wouldnt say so.100 damage each 12 seconds is not that powerful (8 dps) and the burning will be used as rc food.Lilondra 17:24, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lil said it in a nutshell. If we wanted to use a caster spike, why wouldn't we use SF? This would give a balanced Fire Ele a powerful spike skill other then Rodgorts or SF --Angelic Loki 19:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I loved Time's idea. Here is a modification: If you hit a foe suffering from burning, you suffer from only 5 points of exhaustion. Remember that "quick roaster" won't work if you roast your energy and thus your bonus damage. -- NUKLEAR IIV 21:46, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- How about no exhaustion and conditional longer recharge?
- Remove exhaustion, increase energy to 15, add penalties if used for lame spike builds.
