NO. To buff this, is to subvert to power creep. Don't. -- NUKLEAR IIV 02:22, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Give a real good reason as to why this shouldn't be buffed.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.239.110 (talk).
- Bows suck for doing damage and spiking. Plus he did give you the reason why it shouldn't be buffed: Power creep. Ezekial Riddle 23:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Power creep isn't a valid reason, get a better monk. If bows suck for damage, then BUFF THEIR DAMAGE OUTPUT. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.239.110 (talk).
- All right, I'll give you leeway for missing my point. So, I'll cite a few precedents. Old Penetrating/Sundering Attack versus New Penetrating/Sunder Attack. Old Power Shot versus New Power Shot. Bows aren't meant for dealing damage, and shouldn't be big damage dealers.
- Please provide an official post from the devs that bows aren't meant to do damage. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.239.110 (talk).
- How isn't power creep a valid reason? I'll give you a few out of class examples of why it is bad. If one or two people can beat through the defense/blockway meta, then there is a serious problem. While I am not glorifying the current meta, making skills do more damage isn't the way to solve the problem. Ezekial Riddle 00:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Bows don't inflict deep wound every 3 second even with elites. and BTW I'm not asking for more damage, I'm asking for a lower recharge. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.239.110 (talk).
- Which, in turn, adds a higher DPS. Ezekial Riddle 14:30, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- BTW the problem is not range spike, the problem is the lack of good skills to counter range spike. Shields Up used to block ranged attacks 50% of the time. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.239.110 (talk).
- 1. "Please provide an official post from the devs that bows aren't meant to do damage. "
- Izzy's archive
- (on Power Shot's nerf)It's weak, I know ever sense alpha with Eight v Eight went on an insane run with ranger DPS and we redid all ranges and added expertises the plan old damage buffs have never fully recovered, in the end a ranger is about condition application so skill like that just don't hold up well to the class design.
- 2. "BTW the problem is not range spike, the problem is the lack of good skills to counter range spike."
- "With the healing/protecting options available now, range spike shouldn't be as big a problem."
- You're going to have to explain that one to me. You've contradicted yourself and made a statement that was antithetical to a dev's statement of a ranger -- which you specifically requested. --Ezekial Riddle 00:25, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I added a great idea, please review your comments after reading it.
- I don't think this really needs a change. Yes, it's been overshadowed a bit by other skills, but maybe they should be nerfed slightly. As Nuklear said, buffing this will lead to yet more power creep. Saying "get a better monk" is totally the wrong attitude too, and the one which leads most to power creep. It goes kinda like this:
- "Oh you can't deal with this is gets buffed? Get a better monk! In fact, let's buff monk skills too and all get super-skilled monks... but wait! Now all ranger skills are underpowered given the levels of defense we got nowadays. Let's buff them! And if you can't deal with it, get another monk. Maybe a support char. In fact, yeah, Rit and Paragon skills need some buffs too. But ofc with DA at 75% block chance and Displacement not losing health any more, we need to make all ranger skills unblockable..."
- and so forth.
- Really. Don't. Just because power creep is slow doesn't mean it isn't coming... In fact, it's already here! It will be the end of us all!! BEWARE THE POWER CREEP!
- Will you please READ my suggestion instead of dismissing it as power creep. I suggested that Dual Shot be buffed and inflict Weakness for 1 second on the user. This means that if you use it "properly", the weakness doesn't matter as the bow refire rate is at least 2 seconds. But if you fire an arrow immediately afterwards, you get nerfed.
- But you're buffing it. Dual shot was fine in proph, two years ago. Now, you claim it's not fine and buff it. That's called power creep by definition - if something gets weaker over time, you got power creep. -- NUKLEAR IIV 10:06, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- The suggestion is still good. Dual Shot was nerfed because of range spike. The 1 second weakness means that if you range spike, your follow-up attack will be crap.
