A defense point is a control point found in several Alliance battle maps. Depending on the map and control of the shrine, defense points will offer:
- Elemental Defense Zone to those in earshot of the Elemental Defense Point.
- Melee Defense Zone to those in earshot of the Melee Defense Point.
- A Shielding Urn bundle at the Bamboo Defense Point and Waterfall Defense Point.

- A Shielding Urn will respawn at the shrine, eventually, after being taken.
- Kurzick players will not be able to pick up the Shielding Urn at a Luxon controlled defense point, and vice versa.
