Please, please, please make the Bone Minion and Jagged Horror models distinct from one another. Currently, they are using the same model (Jagged Horrors are just Bone Minions with the name "Jagged Horror" floating above them). A lot of work went into differentiating all of the other minions by giving them very distinctive models.
I realize that Jagged Horrors, on average, won't be seen very often since they can only be created by the Lich Form skill "Mark of Horror" or from the trait "Reanimator". Consequently, the thought process that informed the decision to use the same model as the Bone Minions may have gone something like this:
- The Jagged Horrors won't occur that often, so let's not waste time and effort creating a unique model. Let's just re-use the Bone Minion model.
However, I think that's the wrong approach. Given they are the only minion in GW2 to have natural degen, they won't last very long. Coupled with their infrequent occurrence, all the more reason to make them truly memorable.
Something along the lines of:
- Is that a Bone Minion or a Jagged Horror? Meh, doesn't really matter. They all look the same and if it is a Jagged Horror, it'll degen to death pretty soon, anyway.
versus:
- OMG! It's an army of Jagged Horrors!! RUN!!!
Thanks for reading.
