Shadow Steps used to be really cool and enjoyable. Assassins could pop right up to a person (even if they were kiting) and dish out a dagger attack or skill even as the black dust animation settled around them. Trouble was, so could everyone else. That's why every Shadow Step has aftercast now. Still, I think granting just the Assassins a reprieve from that flow-murdering delay wouldn't break the game.
Here's my suggestion:
- Remove the aftercast from all Assassin Shadow Steps and add this addendum to every Assassin Shadow Step that currently exists as well as the stance Shadow Walk:
- Your Non-Assassin skills are disabled for 1 second.
Here we have a return of a real shadow stepping Assassin with a welcome lack of other melee classes exploiting instant movement to capitalize on "while target is moving" skills or casters detonating themselves next to you in the blink of an eye.
