Everything will have to end eventually, my suggestion is as follows, when the time comes Guild Wars servers will go dark, whether it will be 2 years or 10 years, so why not make a game client for singleplayer? Guild Wars while it's much more fun to play with friends, it's still a great game when you play alone. So by making a singleplayer client, we would still be able to play the game even after the servers go dark. There could be an option to download your account, your characters, etc. They could also make that every thing in game is unlocked for the singleplayer, whether it be costumes, mini-pets, etc, maybe even make some simple quests to make it more interesting.
For people who bought the game before the singleplayer client was available would be able to download the client free, and those that didn't could have to buy the client, that way Arenanet would still get some fund to help keep Guild Wars 2.
I just love Guild Wars and that way we could all still play the game.
There could always leave PVP as a Multiplayer add-on or make a way for people to connect to each other without the servers from arenanet.
