Contest: European Age Verification...

How should I, as a 16 year old european, show Anet that my parents agrees that I'm entering the contest? can I send it from my own e-mail? If I did win, I want my name at the site, and a mini on my account... It would be really kind if someone could help me!^^Charocles 20:37, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

I am not sure how they are accepting age proof for this contest. Could you please ask Regina or Martin? Thank you. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:04, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
I will do:) thank you for the help:)Charocles 04:41, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Why? :(

Why are people living in the state of Rhode Island excluded from winning the GW contests on www.guildwars.com?  :( This makes me very sad (living in RI) that I have no chance of winning even if I try very hard. Now Im not going to enter any more contests because of this. Sigh :'( ¤Dark ';~;' Chaos¤ 01:21, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Ouch, that sucks :o--Unendingfear File:User Unendingfear Crane eats peanut.jpg 01:44, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Blame your state senate and governor. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 02:42, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, they're not excluding specific regions like that because they want to, but because of the law and regulations of that specific area that prohibit taking part in contests like this in one way or another. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 04:33, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Contests, etc.

Hey Gaile.

Wondering, If I'm Not In The U.S, Am I Able to enter Contests? Smerf 04:15, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

See the "Eligibility (location)" section at the bottom of official contest webpages, such as the Wintersday 2009 Art Contest, for eligible residents. --Silver Edge 04:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Also, double-check with ANet (via support). In at least one recent case, one player was told she qualified even thought the English text of the eligible location(s) did not explicitly include her country of residence (the Ukraine).   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:07, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Ukraine is part of Europe. Residents of Europe is listed as being eligible on the contest page along with the US and Canada with some exceptions. In that recent case, the person was checking if whether Ukraine, a country in Europe, was eligible even though it wasn't part of the European Union. --Silver Edge 09:50, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
I still don't understand why Anet don't go the same way as other games and just put a "Void where prohibited by law" restriction instead of "only from X,Y,Z country". That way, they can blame the user if something happends (and would allow me to participate XD).--Fighterdoken 20:50, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Contests are offered in areas in which we have legal counsel. That is why the list is specifically inclusive instead of exclusive. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:39, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Gaile, I was also wondering what's the deal with Australian residents? Some contests exclude entries from Australia (they are not listed in the Eligibility (locations)), but others include them. Some contests even have Australian winners, even though the rules for that specific contest does not include Australia in eligible locations (such as the Halloween Art Contest (2008)). I would really like to enter the 2009 Wintersday contest, but Australia is not listed as eligible, and it would be a shame to enter only to be disqualified. Thanks. ~Celestia 05:07, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi Celestia. That is a good question, and I'm not sure of the answer. I recommend that you post on the page of one of the community team members, either Martin or Regina. I'm sure they'll be happy to answer that question. Best of luck if you do enter the contest. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 02:15, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, thank you Gaile! ~Celestia 03:10, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Lustrum Lowland Lions - 5 years

Our Support liassion visited us and made a generous addition to the family fun guild wars gives us dutch people. Now two years later we again have to celebrate our birthday. This time a lustrum. 5 years friends and guildies of the lowland lions have been playing together in the wonderfull world of Guild Wars. Gaile many thanx for the way you sucked us in the game with you're tiptapping through the hallway to get one or more aswers of the developers. That warm feeling is still there in the guild and makes every day in Guild Wars worthwhile. We celebrate our birthday in private domains and if you like i would love to give you a guest guild invite to happily celebrate with us. THANX to you and all the friends of the Lowland Lions! Hey, Didis, that's really nice of you! I'd love to stop by -- just as another player, of course, but one who enjoys visiting long-time friends like LLL. Let me know the details. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 03:26, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello Gaile

Can you comment on this. A user has a question and I think you can answer it. User DrogoBoffin sig icon.png Drogo Boffin 20:48, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

I commented. I did not make an official response, which I am sure was clear in what I wrote. But I did give some information that I hope will be helpful. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:27, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your comment. I knew you couldnt give anything official but I figured a response from you or another Anet employee would be better than somebody else. User DrogoBoffin sig icon.png Drogo Boffin 21:32, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
