Password announcement
Please remove it. I have had to change my password 49 times because of that announcement, and it is becoming annoying. I am beginning to run out of witty passwords, and at this rate it would be easier for me to just enter my serial key each time I have to log on. –Jette 09:25, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Test Krewe
I have a great idea! What if we got some people to volunteer their time and run tests of changes to the game before they're implemented onto the live servers? They could help you catch bugs like the one with Quick Shot or the one where you couldn't even log in, and we can avoid funny messes like that. We could even be a little humorous and name it the Test Krewe, like an Asuran thing. Has Anet/NCSoft ever considered something like this? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 21:20, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Champ Farming
I know this is an old issue and has been going on for a long time, but seriously, something should be done about it. The solution is pretty easy, at least conceptually if not technically. Just make it so whenever they all exit out of their match because they didn't get matched up like they wanted, they still lose their rating anyway. This makes it so they can't just farm off themselves indefinitely because they'll eventually lose out their rating to other guilds. It might suck for a team that has all 8 lag out legitimately, but I think it's worth it to fix this issue. Just did a night of gvg and played 3 matches against teams where all 8 didn't load in, and it's a bit frustrating to say the least. Or does ANET consider this a nonissue? Pluto 01:17, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think they didn't load. I had the same issue a couple of times in Codex Arena, where the opposing didn't load. InfestedHydralisk 02:57, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- We got the same teams a couple times in one night, and they continued to not load in. It's obvious they were intentionally forcing a nonload (in other words, all 8 quit before timer). So, any response on this, or is ANet going to continue to turn a blind eye to it? Pluto 19:40, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

013's in Shing Jea Monastery
Hi Regina! Just letting you know that as a friend and I were going to do some quests for the Canthan New Year, we both disconnected with error 013. We tried to log back into the characters and got the same error. This is what happened at Wintersday I believe; any characters in Shing Jea won't be able to log back into Shing Jea without getting disconnected. Just letting you know as you guys may want to look into it. :D Tender Wolf 03:17, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- EDIT: A guildie informed me it happened while he was in rollerbeetle racing too. So it could be the whole event, not sure, but...yeah. Just letting you know. ;) Tender Wolf 03:18, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Error Code:050
ERROR CODE: 050
Me and my wife both get this error and kicked off whenever we try to change chars to another one who is parked in kamadan or NF area. All the other chars we got work but the ones parked in NF when we try to switch to it we get error:050 and booted off. please fix if you can i would like to be able to do these quest with all my chars! thx, ~Syn --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Syn Strykiir (talk).

I think it's because you're trying to access a character that you left in one of the decorated towns (Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Shing Jea Monastery) prior to the town being decorated at the beginning of Canthan New Year. So your character is stuck in the non-decorated version of the town, which can't be accessed during Canthan New Year. This would explain why I can't access 2 of my characters that I left in Shing Jea Monastery prior to the start of Canthan New Year.--Silver Edge 23:32, 14 February 2010 (UTC)- No Silver, I can't get onto ANY of my other characters... I've been trying for 25 minutes now. Some were last in Sifhalla, some were last in LA, some were last in other places.. it doesn't seem to correlate to decorations in any way. -- Wyn talk 23:44, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) It is for me. The only character that was in LA is stuck in LA with err50, the others were fine. [EDIT:] Nevermind, add EotN to that. >_< Rose Of Kali 00:00, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Defraud and Distress
An SF dungeon runner (with a BDS and Dhuum's new green and black died armor, the works) and 6 fellows who pitifully found the need to pay 20k to have a dungeon cleared for them while they stood around and did nothing felt DEFRAUDED AND DISTRESSED when I nerfed their run. 335 hour suspension. Note that I actually PLAY THE GAME on a daily basis, I have half a book full of HM dungeons completed normally with my guildy which we have been working on diligently despite the shit storm of hyper-farmer degenerates raping this game with their laziness and txt-speak.
Meanwhile real infractions of real rules that ordain real decency in this game are commited: A wall'o'text of PM spam and a copious amount of profanity and verbal abuse in two or more languages because the DISTRESSED kids who play can't handle any slightly arousing situation with civility and decency. Not to mention these people can't even type out three letter words despite showing a more than adequate grasp on English (y for yes, u for you, etc).
So yeah.

- So basically you went on a run, screwed it up for them, and got banned for it. It sounds like you deserved the ban to me. That being said, I do agree with you that more people need to learn to actually play the game instead of depending on overpowered runners to play it for them. Honestly, what they point of logging in if you're just going to stand around while someone else plays for you?--Pyron Sy 02:44, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I showed 20k for a frostmaw run and did everything that our 12 year old "NCsoft employee" runner told us not to do, because i was bored and tired of the shitty culture that has been developing in what is supposed to be high-end content areas like ToA. Then finally i refused to pay and apparently depriving the little darlings of their 20k cookies in that HM high-end content was worthy of a 335 hour ban. Apparently it's just and not stinky whatsover to ban someone for sabotaging people who are participating in activites that are a problem in this game, admitted by Anet themselves. Personally I don't even think anyone looked at the report details and there's an automated system in place.
- How much longer are you going to plague us with this never ending "nerf of the year" scheme that doesn't solve any problems? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 03:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually I recall a time when runners were explicitly told that there were no guaruntees for their "business" by Anet. Suddenly it's a heinous defacement of proper conduct. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 03:43, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

- Or of course instead of griefing 7 players because you don't like their playstyle, you could just not play with them? The way they choose to play in no way impacts upon your personal gaming experience. No offence Alice, as I actually have quiet abit of time for you, but griefing people just because you don't like their play style isn't cool. I play the game properly on my main character, however on my none mains, I have been known to get a run here and there and I think I've only ever done CoF by being ran (just because their really is no point in doing it any other way), does that mean I think people should run the whole game? Of course not, but then they paid the money to play the game and it isn't up to me to tell them how to complete the thing. I control my own actions, not theirs and thus if I disagree with them, I just don't play with them. In the word of a very famous meerkat, "Simpelz!!" - Sounds like typical Anet sloppiness to me. You should talk to Gaile. She at least has the decency to look into things and respond within a reasonable time frame. Complaining about it in Regina's page won't get you anywhere since she pretty much never responds or at most makes one response and never looks at it ever again. 205.206.140.29 04:31, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I reported them twice for verbal abuse and spamming but decided not to screencap the impersonation since I wasn't aware that Barney and Friends had taken over the TOS and Rules of Conduct, and I don't really give a shit about runners or people who get runs, they have monopolies on every single elite area. Not being able to play unless i roll some shitty SC team build or join a stupid ass 10000+ member alliance is damaging. Elite areas being completed in 20 minutes with little chance of failure is damaging, this isn't a very opinionated issue. It isn't hard for these oh-so-delicate flowers you're defending to get over the miniscule amount of griefing I could ever produce against the farm-machine and just get another damn run. I don't know how to move sections to other talk-pages. It's not like it fucking matters since this whole stinking place is NCSoft's and all they care about is nothing. - Being a shitter is not bannable. If people want to do speedclears or perma or 600 or whatever they're doing, there's no policy against that. I wish there were, but there just isn't. Your runner didn't do anything wrong.
- Scamming, however, is bannable; why is there an issue? You agreed to exchange your money for a service, the service was given, and you didn't pay. The ONLY way to get any results out of a report of that nature (trust me, I know) is to have had someone explicitly agree to pay beforehand. If he'd asked you to pay in advance and bailed on the run, you'd have equal grounds to report his behavior. However, as it stands, you are guilty as charged.
- You did something wrong. Your runner didn't. You got banned.

- Tbh it's weird that you even got a ban for this, since I've reported people refusing to pay before and got responses saying that Anet doesn't regulate these sorts of deals and that in the end it comes down to trust between players. So if you indeed did get banned it was probably because you violated some other actual EULA rule and they screenshoted it. Because it's almost 100% sure you wouldn't get banned for only this sort of a "scam". Razor39999 04:48, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

- Indirectly, Alice's actions leading up to the ban are effectively encouraging players to USE THEIR FUCKING BRAINS. Shouldn't be any problem and a ban is outrageous. I'm with Alice all the way on this one and I implore more people to add an element of risk to an otherwise skill-less and dull method of game play, because we know Anet aren't going to. Paragon and Dervish skills
The paragon and dervish profs have low skill pool....i would like if you will increase their skill pool by some skill, even by one. Because of the lack in skill those profs dont have so many working builds. Thank for your help :D --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:79.180.23.35 (talk).
- Coming to Regina about this isn't the right way to go about suggesting this type of thing, and there are too many skills in the game as is. --Kyoshi (Talk) 19:41, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well if Linsey would ever open her page back up, then questions like this would be able to be directed to the place they're supposed to go. --Nathe 20:46, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Or, you could just create a feedback page. As best I'm aware that's the simplest way to go about it. --Kyoshi (Talk) 22:46, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Even if Linsey hadn't abandoned us, the answer would be: No resources = No new skills.... deal with it, Mr. I'm-2-newb2-sign. And it's not the smaller skill selection that's responsible for imbalances with Dervs/Goons... adding MOAR wouldn't address the real problems --ilr 07:44, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually if half the skills each attribute would be balanced and viable, they would have as many viable skills as the other professions. --Boro 13:40, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- That should have been done from the start. Adding the same number of skills to each profession, an extra for the 'home campaign', and less for the rest. When they added assassins and ritualists, they should have added skills in Prophecies too, even if you had to purchase a 'Prophecies upgrade pack' or something like that it would be worth it. Like this: X 'core' skills, +Y for each campaign, +Z in the 'home' campaign. And +M core elites, plus +N elites for each campaign. For example, the core professions could have: C30+P40+F30+N30+E10 = 140 skills, and Factions professions would have 30 skills in prophecies, but 40 at 'home', but the same total of 140. But now it's a bit too late for that, and balancing that would be a bitch. MithTalk 15:10, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

An important question regarding player reward theory
Because I feel that the question I had asked in a prior topic was too important to be ignored by the auto-archiving system (original topic's question answered and it getting bogged down with some petty bickering alongside delays in answers may have caused it to be ignored). So I shall repeat it again as I feel most players would like to see such improvements just as much as I do: "I need to ask, why is it that ArenaNet is so adamant about using the random-drop rate so frequently with primary motivating rewards, such as the Celestial mini pets, mini polar bear, dungeon chest rewards, etc. which often players will wind up spending multiple hours of efforts only to meet with frequent disappointment and in many cases never getting the items they desire as opposed to collectible exchangeable tokens which will show clear progression towards their goals (thereby maintaining player motivation as opposed to potentially driving them away in frustration)?" And to answer any counter-points on offering such on the 'suggestions' space, it appears that no employees pay any mind to, much less comment on anything there, giving little faith to the idea that it will ever be used for purposes other than giving players an ignorable space for their feedback. Seryu 06:10, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- In response to your ending section regarding the feedback space, we have had an official statement that the developers do indeed read and follow the suggestions that users post. While I don't feel this is necessarily a suggestion so I won't recommend moving it, it could easily be made into one if you choose. -- Wyn talk 06:18, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Expanding on this: We spent a long time trying to get a response about the Feedback space thing and Regina wrote back a very long response in turn. IOW: It's a dead horse at this point that's been answered and bringing it back up is counter- productive to the C.R. process. The question about why so much reliance on a completely random drop system that doesn't track previous drops, is an honorable inquiry and I wish you luck on it. --ilr 20:21, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- "official statement"
- "Regina wrote back"
- That is better than nothing, but there is still a lot of credibility to be rebuilt before anything arenanet says will be assumed to be true. It is nice that they gave an official statement and lengthy reply, but I do not think that I am the only one who would decline to bet on it. At this point, honestly, I wouldn't even get my hopes up.
- The last update was a step in the right direction (if we ignore the fact that it took the greater part of a year), but it's still nothing resembling a good history. I don't disbelieve that things have improved, but neither do I believe it enough to put any sort of faith in that improvement.
- Just my two off-topic cents. is for Raine, etc. 20:36, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- oh an official statement, what a relief, in that case they can't be lying! Pulpulpullie 20:41, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think we need any more proof of Anet's lack of credibility. --Boro 20:43, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

- ArenaNet's credibility is not so much in question, in my opinion, as they seem to be far understaffed for the scope of their pursuits. I've seen few other gaming companies amongst their competition that even bother to try this level of player feedback and they seem to be at least somewhat inexperienced in certain areas (at least based on the theoretical foundations that came as part of my education in the field). The official statement link is the first I'd seen on the matter and I'm just desperate enough to want to see this game succeed over others that I'm willing to give the feedback space another attempt. Worst case scenario is someone in the games industry reads the idea and some day sets some improved standards in player reward mechanics. Seryu 08:07, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- Confusing "worst case scenario" with the "best case scenario" is what blind optimists do. Pika Fan 14:28, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, the best case scenario would be that ArenaNet uses the idea and takes the role in setting the standard, not to mention improving upon Guild Wars. The worst case scenario pretty much takes into account that the idea gets completely ignored and I wind up having to do it myself some number of years down the line. So no confusion or blind optimism at all, just a calculated scenario. Nonetheless, still hoping to hear back on the original question someday. Seryu 09:47, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, the worst case scenario is that ArenaNet hates you and shuts down Guild Wars just to spite you. Not saying it is plausible, just saying the worst case scenario is worse than you described.--Orry 11:39, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Worst case: anet is god, and sends you and everyone you know to the deepest pits of hell, effective immediately. is for Raine, etc. 13:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Worst case scenario is always Global Zombie Holocaust. What do they teach you this days on school? Now, try to walk a mile on their shoes. You are a designer, have a great idea, and consult the code writers. After a thousand "no can do" it gets a little frustrating. That's why I learned to code, to answer with a 'yes you can, you lazy ass, just do this, this and this, oh, look, I just did it myself, get out of the chair and let me finish and go pick your nose somewhere else!". It's really refreshing. MithTalk 16:11, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

- Well, I had posed the original question to some of our designers, and hoped that they could answer as soon as they got less busy, but it looks like the thread has devolved. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to close this until such time that people are able to behave themselves when talking here. I am sorry to the OP for this. --Regina Buenaobra 21:44, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Luxon/Kurzick weekend announcement bug?
Hello Regina. Is there a bug/old text again in the announcement for the upcoming weekend event? Amber & Jadite are listed as costing 1000 points instead of the current price of 5000 points. Gorani 20:15, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
