Feedback talk:User/Axiomix/Clientside nicknames

I think there would be too much effort on the part of development to do this. It would be easier to just insert the /w, and then click on a player in-game, or on one of your friend/guild/trade lists, and have the player's name automatically copy into the whisper bar so you don't need to type it out.
