- I think this is a great idea, one of the reasons that I play Guild Wars is that the most of titles are actually have useful in game effects. I'm not aware of any titles that don't have statues in HoM. It's extremely unfair that this title doesn't at the very least give a boost to the Balthazar faction cap, despite being earnable exclusively through pvp, and vast amounts of it at that.
- This isn't "real" PvP. While I see where you're coming from, I don't agree. True PvPers have high enough caps to not hit the faction max too often. RR day was enough to give PvEers free cap raises. And yes, these holiday games swarm with PvE players, including myself, who never touch serious PvP. Rose Of Kali 03:35, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
How is it not "real"? You're actually killing people, and it takes a TON more skill to win a holiday "game" than to IWAY around for a few hours. Whether or not you consider it "real" pvp, it does give balthazar faction, and there's no reason that success in it, unlike everything else that gives balthazar faction, does not raise the cap.
It's also noteworthy that not everyone was all gung-ho about winning the red resigns title, nor was red resigns arena anything resembling "real" pvp. That's why it was removed. Yet, it still gave a boost to the faction cap. There's no logical reason for gamer title not to count. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Copper Legray (talk).
- Wait, did you just say that holiday games take "a TON more skill to win" than <insert anything besides RR here>? lol It's regrettable that RR awarded faction cap raise, but what's done is done, it was removed, so forget about it. There is no logical reason to repeat that mistake.
- This "PvP" gets flooded with inexperienced players who fail at PvP as a playstyle (including myself up until I got my Rollerbeetle HoM trophy, kthxbai I'm not coming back), leechers, and botters already. Why give them another reward?
- 1. If you play normal PvP (doesn't have to be hardcore), you will already have at least some early ranks in one or more PvP titles, giving you enough faction cap to not cap out during win streaks. Even something like 2 or 3 ranks in Glad will give you enough cap to not cap out unless you completely forget to dump faction and go in with 10k points, but that's a whole other problem. Putting a Balth Priest in all these outposts should solve any faction problems.

So, if this is a player's only pvp experience, they should be penalized for it? I don't see what your problem is with this suggestion. You don't lose anything if other people have their faction caps raised. The game doesn't become any harder for you, it doesn't make anyone more powerful, or have any effect other than allowing for win streaks, which, btw, if you're actually any good at, last far longer than multiple low-level pvp title faction cap raises will give. I suppose if by streak you mean "3 wins", sure, you have a point.
I'm talking about people with actual skill though, those who are able to win 50+ consecutive matches. It actually takes skill to do that, whether you like it or not, and far more than merely downloading the latest gimmick off of Pvx and abusing it for all it's worth in RA/Codex--yet, that does boost the faction cap.
- They're not really getting penalized for anything...they're already getting a title. While I don't even truly understand the appeal of Codex, RA takes more than just a gimmick build to win. It takes a certain amount of independence and a certain amount of teamwork to win. Also, of course, you need a bit of luck. Festival games on the other hand are very basic games, where there is no true planning, and no real sense of individuality. While it does take skill to get the title, its a kind of skill much different then that needed for of PvP. Even CM, which has many elements from PvE involved, is much closer to true PvP then festival games. And that isn't involved in the Balthazar Faction cap. Arcdash 18:00, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
