Feedback talk:User/Drolma/Multiple World Server Access
Good point. In GW1 I currently belong to a guild based in Europe, though I myself am in North America. I normally play with them on weekends during mid-morning hours my time which translates into early evening their time. If, on the other hand, I log-in during what are odd hours for them, this doesn't present a problem in GW1. For example, if I log in at 6 PM my time, it's 3 AM my guildmates' time. They won't likely be playing at that hour; but this doesn't mean I'm now stuck in an empty world devoid of players. I can just jump to the American server and now there's plenty of people to play with.
In GW2, this won't be the case. If I choose to join the server/world on which my European guildmates play for the benefit of continuing the relationships I've built with them, this will present a problem. Weekends won't be so bad, but during weeknights I will be logging into a largely empty server/world. I won't have the option of switching to another world/server that is more densely populated. Now I'm stuck with a mutually exclusive choice. Join the world my guildmates are on, but now have long stretches during the week of playing on an empty server/world or join a server/world close to home to have people to play with during the weeknights at the expense of having to sever my connection with my GW1 guild and friends.
