Could this also stuff it up for everyone. I'd love to hear it when a Terra tank holding back waves of Terrorwebs suddenly gets all it's enchantments stripped, leading to a wonderful wipe down in Underworld. Change the skills before the zones. ~~000.00.00.00~~ 13:44, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Randomly disabling players' strategies would only add to frustrations and would constantly force everyone to give up what they're doing to deal with absurdity. If some of these environmental effects were faced randomly, players would just leave the area and return repeatedly until they found one they could tolerate. If they just occur without warning, players would complain in mass to ArenaNet because they would be unable to ever prepare a functional strategy (clearly the world itself is toying with them sadistically). As for the suggestion in occurrences for dropping them randomly on players every time they kill a group of enemies, it's just punishing players more the better they get at playing; plus this wouldn't be punishing individual players as much as it would overtax anyone playing support (healing, protection, restoration, etc) or force players to exclusively play such roles as everything else could easily get the entire group killed quicker. The above suggestion about offering feedback and suggestions to improve the balance of skills is definitely the way to go. Besides, not everyone metagames (looking up farming or speed running builds, etc.) some of us actually try and fail because it's much more fun to learn to play and will find it difficult enough when facing something new. - <<Hard Mode should be harder>>

- Agree with Seryu. Yet, Not too sure this would fly without a lot of complaints. Just because some know how to vq, etc. Doesn't mean we all do. I think though that it should be on those who constantly zone into certain areas, like faction farming, etc. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 07:54, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- This suggestion is for Hard Mode. You know, the part of the game intended for people who know the game from top to bottom. Who like to face challenges and overcome them. People who have yet to learn to play should not be able to complete anything in HM. Sadly, I cannot say that is true about the current HM Koda Kumi 09:03, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- While it may be easy for me to complete things in normal mode. Harder actually in hard mode, I prefer on those who farm, etc. like dtsc and stuff in hard mode. I'm not the only one who's had some trouble in hard mode. So there's those who can 'beat' it. Others who can't. I'm just saying be fair. doesn't seem like that right now. So you gotta look at it from other views. Seems to me like, hey I completed all of this, I'm 'Smart', forget those who do have trouble. Even in missions where you need more than one real player, etc. Some still LEARN in Hard Mode. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 19:12, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- What part of HARD MODE (yes, HARD MODE) don't you understand? People who still have to learn how the game works should not even be thinking about HM. It should be a challenge for those who are bored with NM, not some farming exercise. Why should anyone just be able to jump into HM after having beaten the game once? Yesterday I was going into Ring of Fire when a monk wanted to team up with me. He used 2 minion skills, had his attributes randomly distributed, and no elite. Why should this person, who has no clue as what a monk even is, be able to jump into HM and have a decent chance of succeeding?
- Also, things like UWSC, or dtsc, whatever that may be, should not even exist in a game where your skill should determine the outcome of a fight instead of your build. Koda Kumi 16:12, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- Obviously you don't understand what HARD MODE is. You have your version, we have ours. So everything may be 'easy' for you, but some to few may not know about elites (especially if they only own prophecies where you don't get heroes). And they have their own builds to try. Does that not give them the chance to do Hard Mode? Are you saying, just because someone doesn't have an elite, mean they can't play hard mode? Harsh. Each person does hard mode differently. As person said above, some may have trouble. Some may not. You may can complete every thing in hard mode, good for you, but Not everyone completes hard mode. I don't see that many Vanquisher titles showing up. I do hope you'll give respect, but sounds like you haven't and won't. Please don't be Selfish. Everyone should have Opportunity. What you say, seems denial. Pitty. Seems you haven't learned life enough either. 173.23.84.231 16:40, 9 October 2009 (UTC) Alude Ni

A short detour[edit]
Technical difficulties and money concerns aside, players behaviors dictate how much freedom game designers do have to create an appropriate content. If we want anet to improve their game design we have to improve ourselves all the same.
On a side note, cheap solutions would help PUGs, in pve only, to have a fair chance to enjoy game content withtout having to disband at the first failed attempt. For exemple we know that most of the time:
1 - Their problem number 1 is communication
2 - They have trouble with targeting in the early months and sometimes even after
3 - They do not trust what they dont know
Solution: draw a santa claus icon above the head of that foe wich the game detect as very vulnerable, make it so that for every rand(8,12) santa claus killed, that player with less than 500.000 xp get a cool drop. You will see that players will be able to discern what make a lot of santa claus to pop up from what does not in a very short amount of time. Anet know that players hate tutorials but love drops. Make tutorials rewarding and part of the regular game and you should see quite a few players who wont see shadow form as a requirement to enjoy the game.
