I absolutely love this idea. Just saying.

This is actually a interesting idea. How feasible it is remains to be seen. However, I'm not to sure about the idea of this dragon only being dormant during the reign of the more benevolent emperors. Just doesn't seem to fit with the lore of Cantha and its imperial line. What could work is this "dragon" becoming corrupted, perhaps tie in this with the awakening of the Elder dragons. Makes pretty solid sense to me. Its a great idea, really. Within the bloodline of the emperors flows the blood of the "dragon emperors." Well, why not let that be true in a literal sense? That would mean that by possessing a dragon's blood, they too were susceptible to it's powers of corruption. However, due to the corruptiveness being dormant, the emperors were benevolent. Once the powers in the blood were awakened, the emperors became corrupt themselves. It would provide a great reasoning behind the emperor's shift in attitude, and make the dragon threat a presence felt all over the world (which would fit, considering the lore behind the dragon's cycle of awakening and sleep.--Neithan Diniem 03:37, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

i'm sorry to say that this doesnt make sense- it was kisu's successor that first became tyranical and i dont honestly believe that kisu became 250 years old - and we are told that primordus was the first to awaken which would have been after cantha became secluded

and we wernt told that the other emperors became tyranical - Bubbles ([1]) has cut us from cantha so weather they are trying to reestablish contact or weather they're not bothered we dont know and besides other emperors were idiots one of them was 'accidently' killed in a fire in the first raisu palace because he was a tw@t

They don't need to be fully awakened tyrants to feel the effects of the dragon's stirring. Primordus was delayed in his awakening by the actions in EotN, but he was stirring none the less (eye opening at end of final cutscene). Could have made Kisu's successor be more wary of outsiders, thus leading into the repression of the Factions and the Tengu alike in the latter generations (through further corruption as well as learned behavior from previous rulers in the line).
