Unfortunately, the main function of AwL has been rendered obsolete by the spirit buff - its function was to allow a Ritualist to get a Pain spirit up at the start of the battle rather than three seconds into it, but the current casting time of Pain is, shall we say, less of an inconvenience. Making it a different kind of spirit to Pain so that it stacks better is probably a step in the right direction - however, I'd probably be inclined to rework its functionality entirely.
