Actually, the energy cost is already reduced for every profession. If you look at the energy costs of all other traps that do damage in the same area that these 2 traps do, they are very high. If you reduce the energy cost even further, they would be quite overpowered. --MushaTalk 04:34, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Since they are PvE Only Skills, whats wrong with being a little overpowered? Skills like Pain Inverter, Great Dwarf Weapon, Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support are quite overpowered as well. High energy costs on ranger traps help prevent other professions from "stealing" the perks of being a Ranger. As for energy costs, only 1 trap goes under and 2 go over 10, Barbed Trap and Dust Trap are the only traps that don't cost 10 energy. At 16 Expertise, Barbed costs 5 energy, and Dust costs 9 energy, all other traps only take 4 energy. The damage the traps cause isn't anything extraordinary, the best part about them is the unique conditions applied. 10 energy is a lot compared to 4. I still think they should be affected.--Barionic Hawkeye 06:06, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Just because you make those PvE-only traps affected by expertise, doesn't mean people are going to actually start using them, especially when things like dust trap exist: you don't need weakness with blind. 152.226.6.203 07:25, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I admit they still won't be used as much. But they are never used right now. But it could at least make the traps worth using, making it more fun than using the same ol' traps.
- Yeah, that's my point though. As PvE skills, they are already overpowered (not in a bad way). Have you noticed the amount of damage those traps do compared to ALL other traps? Comparatively, these traps have already had an energy reduction, but its being applied to all professions, not just ranger. To reduce the energy cost further would just be ridiculous. --MushaTalk 22:46, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

- I think they're actually kinda WEAKSAUCE as far as PvE skills go. It's far more effective to only carry the original Ranger traps, and then cast stuff like EBSoH and Ural's Hammer right as the mobs all walk into your traps while piling on SnowStorm or Barrage/Volley or Mark of Pain and whatever else you got as soon as everything is crippled. ...Making these terribly mediocre PvE traps work with Expertise wouldn't really do much to change the Mathematics behind this reality... --ilr 23:05, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
