Excellent suggestion and well formatted. I don't know that all of it will work once game balancing issues are added to the mix, but it is certainly a fantastic starting point.
The only change I would make is to the blessing for the Temple of Corruption. Instead of:
- Aura of Corruption — Allies within range of the temple gain Fury.
I would make it:
- Aura of Corruption — Allies within range of the temple gain Life Stealing with attacks (either with each attack or only a certain percent chance that an attack will steal life).
or:
- Aura of Corruption — Allies within range of the temple have a chance to inflict a random condition with each attack.
Regardless, I love the suggestion and would like to see it or some variation of it implemented. I'm a huge proponent of world building and giving players the freedom to really make the game what they want it to be rather than simply running around in a non-interactive world while following a pre-scripted plot. This suggestion is right in line with that philosophy. Meant to refer to the "Aura" of the Temple of Corruption in my previous post but mistakenly typed "Disciple" instead; I've corrected it above. - I didn't want to leave 1 boon out, so I gave Corruption the Fury boon. And I also thought about having each temple provide special vendors who would sell upgrade components that tie into the theme of each temple. So life stealing and conditions could go into a crest/mark/talisman sold at Corruption. I also thought about adding blessings in the sense of GW1, where players pay for a unique effect for their personal use, which would also use the things you suggested (Dark Aura (blessing)). •••Mora 19:54, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
Love the idea. Dunno about the method of implementation you mentioned. But the idea to be able to control an area is quite appealing to me. -Cheesethief
Good idea, if it was to be implemented though, it would need to be possible for smaller guilds to be able to do just about as much stuff. And I think the shady dealer should be selling umbrellas. Kormon Balser 22:47, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
I really like the idea, but I imagine it being hard to code, let alone balance it. Since it's already to balance a WvW because of overwhelming odds in terms of number of players on one server and on the other. But I really like the idea, like I said at the beginning.
