why is this needed?-- Zesbeer 03:47, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- There's plenty of quests in this game already. Batchie 09:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- To bring more closure to this part of the story and truly address the PC's time with Gwen in pre, which the existing quest does only in passing, as it focuses more on what happened to her after the Searing. And as I said, neither that quest nor Fire & Pain are solo quests, which means they don't truly reflect the feel of being with her in pre, which in most cases it's just the PC and Gwen. This quest does, and focuses entirely on that past meeting instead of just touching on it briefly at the beginning and end like the other quest does. Also, the rewards from the other quests can technically be gotten without doing those quests, via purchase from other players, so I wanted to provide a reward that can't be gotten in any other way, only by exploring her story to some extent via those quests, which is why they are requirements for being able to do this one. --Nathe 12:59, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I actually like this idea, pity the only proph char I have is my mule lol. But I've been waiting for Gwen's Garden to bloom for ages. That persistant effect is a bit over the top though. ~ Sanna 01:03, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

- Closure?? This almost ventures into "I ordered a RealDoll™ that looks liek Gwen" Territory --ilr 03:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Er, no, ilr, it doesn't. It's just something for those that want a bit more out of the reunion and her story than what we were given. Not everyone is satisfied with the current quests and the reunion and how they were all done. And I said that it doesn't matter if it takes a while before they can get to it, as I know there are other things that they want to do first and others which might come up later. Just as long as this is put in somewhere in the list of things to do, the when doesn't matter.

- Glad you like the idea, Sanna! I did say that the buff can be changed if Anet thinks it needs to be, so don't worry about that. I'm very open to adjustments to make this whole thing work. Keep in mind, though, that as the bonus is only +1, it would only allow one monk bonding spell or degen item to be used at a time without degen. Adding more would add the appropriate degen, as the bonus only covers one pip. --Nathe 05:07, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- While I like the idea of this quest and really appreciate the detail of the suggestion, there is one nifty part which I don't like: The +1 hpregen and +1 manaregen. If its a restrained effect that only works in a few designated quest areas, like Defending Jalis' camp it might be OK. BUT if it works in explorable areas its going to be overpowered. Permament 1 energy and health regeneration, even in PvE its overpowered. You wouldn't think how many broken things people could create using that. so work on it a little bit please. --Boro 19:58, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's fine, I don't mind Anet messing around with it to make it more balanced, whatever works. But I did try to limit it. It's only ever +1, and that means that only one spell or item with inherent degen can be used at a time without said degen. And only if you and Gwen are within earshot of each other and alive. It's like a shout that never expires, basically, but which does have a limited range. I guess I just don't see how one pip of regen makes a whole lot of difference. --Nathe 02:09, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- I am for this, It would help for those that I know that do follow her story (There are people who love gwen) and gives an Option for those who want this. I would be interested in doing this quest. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 03:25, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm guessing that most of the people on the wiki aren't avid fanfic readers like I am. I'm noticing a bit of a parallel with a certain story posted on ff.net....which I'm sure is entirely coincidental. ;D Good luck getting your "take" on Gwen and the player retroactively made into canon! ;) --216.176.94.186 21:24, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- I wasn't asking them to do anything, just to leave the G/T story unresolved. Any player can then, in their own mind, decide for themselves whether they got together or not, depending on the player's preference, or whether Gwen ended up with someone else, whoever the player might want that to be. To make sure you understand, all I'm saying is that there would be nothing in-game of any certainty to say one way or another what happened. It would be left open, as it currently is, for the player to decide. All I was asking in this suggestion was that it be kept open-ended, is all. And not to define the outcome definitively either way. If a player, for example, wants to believe that Logan is Gwen's decendant, that's their choice, just as it is the choice of another player to believe otherwise. Both possibilities can be allowed to exist if the story is left open-ended. Which is all I'm asking. --Nathe 23:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
