Lovely idea, it takes the simple "Here I am... Play me!" character stance and gives them life. Being able to see my characters in a tavern or a cave or whatnot doing various things would be amazing. Perhaps have them change what their doing based on time of day when you go to the screen? That might be a little too much, but its merely another option. I would be one of the people that would wonder "What do they do all day long, waiting there?" hehe. Great idea, the only con being the additional time it would take for them to rig up the animations and the like, but it wouldn't be impossible nor all too difficult.
