Weapons with inherent holy and dark damage? why would anyone use anything else? armor ignoring damage is always win. Sonic Sunday 04:43, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Neither Holy nor Dark damage (or Chaos, or...) are armor-ignoring, as evidenced by things like Judge's Insight, any wands that deal such damage, and so on. It is only armor-ignoring when a skill generates it directly. You are correct, though, that they would be better off than almost any other damagetype, at least in PvP - as there are no skills that explicitly protect against such damagetypes, and it would bypass the two biggest natural damage reductions - the Warrior's physical and the Ranger's elemental.
- Therefore if such things were to exist, they should stay in PvE. Vili 点 05:07, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Whether they stay in PvE or becomes available in PvP as well remains to be seen. Unless it's documented somewhere which I may have missed, I have not heard anything with regards to what elemental types will be available, if it will be available, whether or not there will be some sort of armor to defend against it, or whatnot. These are ideas that I want to throw out there to see if ArenaNet will look at it and consider them for inclusion, or if they feel that there's something I have proposed that could inspire them. Seeing as the game is still a ways off, with nothing concrete or set in stone as far as what the game will feature and the ever-constant battle of balancing gameplay, it can't hurt to suggest something that has not been done before. Will it be balanced for regular play? Who knows. But I would not rule out that these ideas of mine should remain strictly for PvE play only. One should not be basing these ideas on how it'll affect the game using GW1 as a model.
