Real Guild Hall improvements -- Probably too much work, and guild halls are already pretty extravagant.

Guild halls can be upgraded -- I do like the seasonal decoration idea, but same as above for the rest, really.

Have guild halls be located in actual towns -- Far too much work for something that would be "really the same as it is now". --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 20:24, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I really like the idea of adding holiday decorations to your guild hall. The rest, to me, is too much. I don't want to play The Sims: Tyria. Xiaquin Crystal Snowflake.png 21:49, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I like this. I find guilds a weak part of the game, especially one called Guild Wars. Yeah you get your silly guild names appear globally when you win in HoH, or when you own an outpost in factions, but for the most part its purely cosmetic.

I've always wondered why Guilds didn't have many special features, and worked like most other MMO's (a chat room of like-minded gamers) when they are supposed to be (correct me if I'm wrong) the basis of the game and Lore. 2 thumbs up from me. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.158.200.58 (talk).

I like the idea of upgrades and buildings. I hate the fact we have these beautiful halls now and can only stand outside and wonder what beautiful things we could be inside breaking. It really wouldn't be too much work, many MMO's are doing it now. Runes of Magic for example. However, the addition of a hall to a town is a terrible idea. I enjoy having our own instance, and think it implies much more ownership than having a building plopped into the worldspace. A guild vault that we can store items to be shared by guildies would be ideal. As it is now I have to devote an entire second account (and possibly another soon for the alliance) as a guild bank. Seems an entire account would be much more wasted server space than a simple extended storage area. Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 09:37, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

I think that the idea is a sound one. Real Guild Hall improvements are a simple thing. Basically the Anet staff would make a Guild Hall as we have them now. Then things would be removed, reducing the hall to a much less detailed and expansive form. Then the guild leader or officer would spend cash to purchase these upgrades for the hall. Several different objects could then be set to be purchasable for a set area. This would work just like the HoM does when you display or organize a monument. They would be purchasable just as NPCs are bought today, also. As for the decorations, their essentially changes to the models that make up both the purchased pieces and the core model. These changes would be best done as a "all or nothing" purchase for the decor, no buying the decoration for that specific thing (like a fountain being decorated with fallen leaves for Harvest festival or whatnot). If you buy the decor, it effects everything you have purchased. As for the idea to have the Guild Hall in a city, the mechanic for doing so is already in the game. Player's home instances are going to be the same concept, one out of two or three locations within the city that is that players "Home Location," accessible by them alone and people they invite. A Guild Hall would work the same way, being that the halls would allow any member to enter the grounds, along with anyone that is invited in. The building where the guild is located would essentially be "walled off," and most likely from the outside appear as the guild does upon purchase, empty. That would save on data space. I would love to have my guild hall be within the walls of a city or be a tangible, explorable location on the world, not just an instance only accessible through map travel. This would give more depth to the world, seeing fortresses here and there, smaller outpost halls near cities, and extravagant halls within or just outside the walls of the prominent cities of the world. It would put Guild back into Guild Wars, allowing for lore and depth to be poured into the game by the truckload. Who is to say that these halls cant have historical stories put to each one? What if that Fort in the Wastelands was once a scene of a decisive battle for the Charr? Or how about that ruin in the Magumma Jungle? perhaps it was once a hiding place for the White Mantle during their occupation of the jungle? You can add so much into the game if such stories were available. This idea has my support.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 18:16, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Neithan Diniem pretty much said it even if I disagree with some points (such as the story thing since you could do that yourself with a pen and paper) but having a Guild Hall act as a home instence such as the current Lions Arch Keep in GW seems to me a great idea. If there were several Guild Halls with one per capital or nuetral city that can be accessed not just physically but through an Asura Gate (to prevent a bunch of people going through the same door but none seeing each other on the other side) we could really get some diversaty and guild influence going. --User Magican Signature Empathy.jpg Magican talk 08:48, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
