I only have one thins to say [1] -- 84.245.20.230 17:57, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Also, wouldn't this be the first skill requiring 20 energy?... oh yeah, and it's op'd too. --Alex User AlexEternal Mr Bear.jpgEternal 19:00, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Again, the functionality doesn't have to be the same. And you're welcome to give suggestions on balancing it.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 19:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I'd suggest making it so the next XY (scales with att.) attacks are armor ignoring (with a max of about 4 attacks), but make it so a random condition applies as long as the skill is up. or if you're wanting to keep it as it is, you could always stick in a "while under the effects of this skill you deal X% less damage". ~ PheNaxKian User PheNaxKian sig.jpg 19:37, 3 September 2009
Oo, I like that.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 19:38, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
tbh you'd get pretty tired of seeing random conditions constantly being applied by every attack on everything around you in a giant random clusterfuck after just an hour. :/ --Cursed Angel Q.Q 20:04, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
PvE-only mebbe?-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 20:05, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I know, doesn't make the "random conditions for everyone on every attack" any less annoying after the first hour of "oHMAGAWD tihs is so cool andawsomee!!!!1". tbh just skip any "random" effects, and 5 attacks of armor ignoring damage goes off in 4 sec. --Cursed Angel Q.Q 20:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
But the form would still be up, with no buffs anymore. It needs something that's continous.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 23:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
My 'lil bro would love this skill :P--Unendingfear User Unendingfear Crane.jpg 19:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
wow, you even designed a bug for it, good job :p, this does sounds overpowered and very ev0l, kinda hypocrit to use this skill while you're constantly working on saving the world from evil ~ Sanna 01:24, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Well, the way I roleplay, all the big bosses are still alive and causing problems.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 19:21, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

No to the dark side[edit]

No, never. Abaddon is evil. The player characters are good. No matter how tempting the skill may be. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 06:32, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

No worship Kormir, embrace the temptation of warm eye sockets instead.... Energy 15 Activation time 1 Recharge time 12 = Elite Touch Skill. You grab the nearest enemy and blind them. They are knocked down and neither of you can move for 3 seconds. Enemy takes 5...25...30 damage, is Dazed for 20 seconds, and loses all enchantment. You immediately lose interest.
--ilrUser ilr deprav.png 11:44, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, and why not "All enemies within earshot have 90% chances to miss with any attack and projectile spells, and you cannot be blinded and have triple the chances to deal critical hits."? That would sure go with the eye pocking and the the 6 eyes. But it doesn't matter the effect, it can't be Abaddon's. Abaddon is evil. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 12:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Alright...obviously you're not familiar with Gunnery Sergent Hartman... --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 23:13, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
I find war movies extremely anodyne and tedious, so do not I have the slightest idea of what are you talking about. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 00:36, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
You find them annoying and soothing? Uh, okay. Anyway, Hartman is a jerk from Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, a satire about the author of the novel it was based on's experiences as a wartime journalist. I think he was referring to Hartman's line "...or I will gouge out your eyes and skull-fuck you!" He was kind of the origin of the hard-assed abusive boot camp officer, but ironically there aren't that many of them out there, mainly because anyone who treated recruits like that would get discharged so fast their head would spin. —Jette User Jette awesome.png 01:17, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

How about...[edit]

User Vanguard Eliteskill.jpg Touch of Abaddon 25Energy 0.75¾Activation time 60Recharge time

Elite Touch Skill. Target foe suffers from all conditions for 15 seconds. For 20 seconds, that foe is hexed with Touch of Abaddon and spreads any conditions and hexes, with their original durations, to any adjacent foes. This skill is disabled for 60 seconds. (100% failure with Lightbringer 7 or less)

--Gah_ 13:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

That's badass, but I want this to be a form.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 13:34, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, how about having it inflict (not transfer) all conditions and hexes on you, when activated, to all adjacent enemies, remove enchantments on hit, and inflict all conditions and hexes you get afterward to adjacent enemies? It would have to have a fairly short duration, though. --Gah_ 13:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
...the form, that is. --Gah_ 15:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
I like it. Go ahead an edit if you'd like, because I'm not sure how to word it.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 15:42, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

'cannot be captured'[edit]

3-minute delay after completion? Like a dungeon? That 'bug' could easily be averted.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 16:38, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

or there could be an "Acolyte of Abaddon" like with the other Avatar skills. ~ PheNaxKian User PheNaxKian sig.jpg 16:41, 5 September 2009
Fair enough.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 18:27, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Lore-wise[edit]

Abaddon no longer has his godly powers so technically he's not a god. - Reanimated X 18:24, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

But people still worship him, or could secretly.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 18:27, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
And you suggest that the hero who killed Abaddon should start worshipping a dead god? - Reanimated X 18:56, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
No, but could harness the lingering power of one. Plus, roleplaying potential.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 18:59, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
@Reanimated: I'm not seeing the connection between using forms and possibly worshiping a God. What I understood a Dervish's form to be is a channeling of divine energy from a God into a form, rather than assuming the form of a random God/God your Dervish personally worships (which might have required the player to declare a God/Deity at character creation, which is a whole 'nother can of worms.) Besides, not everyone chooses to worship the "good" Gods (otherwise, there would never be any Evil deities in any roleplaying setting anywhere.) I think it'd be great from a roleplaying perspective. My Dervish worships Dwayna. Who says that another's can't worship Abaddon and channel his divine energy. ... No real balance ideas, just roleplaying support. Carry on. >.> Elysea User Elysea ElyseaSignatureImage.jpg 19:05, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I believe I just said that Abaddon isn't a god anymore. So what divine energy are you talking about? - Reanimated X 19:09, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

His power was aaaaaaaaall transferred to Kormir. If you want a new Avatar, that would be Kormir's. And the NPC is already done! What can compete with a shiny gold-plated goddess? MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 19:27, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Looking like Abaddon could beat it. :P-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 19:33, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Kormir has secret powerz! |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light sig.jpgLive!| 19:42, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Looking like someone with a gas mask, dreadlocks and steel gauntlets would be cooler than a shiny golden goddess? O_o MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 19:48, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Admittedly, they'd both look good. You're welcome to create a concept form for Kormir, because I have no ideas.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 19:51, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

If you wait 1 or 2 years in GW 2 maybe we will see avatar of koromir and Togo was "great" but at the moment the avatar are 5.--Ciotto 21:00, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Supposedly, the gods have kinda just left shit alone in GW2. It's unlikely we'll see avatar skills. Dervishes might be present, but I'm pretty sure the avatars won't. Makes me wonder if they're being held hostage or something, because Abaddon was a total pushover and Kormir couldn't do jack against all those demons in the DoA. Seems pretty out of character for Kormir to just abandon everyone, even if we know nothing about the others. Hm. Maybe those big dragons have an anti-divinity field, like Sigil. —Jette User Jette awesome.png 21:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Concept Art[edit]

Somebody should totally draw one for this form and send it in to anet, if its awesome and awe inspiring enough maybe they'll make this skill a reality :D -/- Discuss 14:22, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Capture Idea?[edit]

I think Anet should put a level 5 monster who is chained to the ground and is easily killed. That level 5 monster contains Avatar of Abbadon.

Horrible idea. There should just be one of those "end-mission timers" like they do in some of the Eye of the North missions. Gives people plenty of time to capture it. Forgot that I added a boss mob to cap from.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 17:22, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Added a balancing factor.[edit]

Now you can only cap it if you beat Nightfall. Y'know, theoretically. -- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 17:22, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
