Sounds like some pretty good ideas, m8. Check out my suggestion for Guild Halls in GW 2, since Guild Halls are the main basis of GvG.
- Linear gameplay: Obviously, the longer you spend playing, the more skilled you will get at the game, and nothing can change that. You always have to start somewhere with character ability as well; if you have all the abilities from the get-go, it's hardly an RPG because your character doesn't develop. Limiting it wouldn't be unreasonable, though, and they did say the skill list would be more condensed. This also plays into the grinding and level dependence.
- Grind game: ANet is decidedly anti-grind. The worst that grinding has ever been for Guild Wars was in Nightfall with getting your level or Sunspear rank up to go on to the next mission.
- Higher level dependence: ANet has said they're still going to probably include a level cap. If not I would assume that levels will simply be a matter of time played and not affect player ability after a certain point.
- Crafting: I agree to an extent, but the Asura have been established as a techno-savvy race providing assistance to other races and will possibly have greater crafting ability because of that (of course this hasn't been confirmed). How this would affect the game I can't say, but I doubt it will ruin it.
- Itemization: They can only do so much, really. It sounds like they're overhauling resources to get GW2 done, so I imagine it'll be pretty impressive, if not in variety then in design.
- Challenging Challenges: Lolwut? Elaborate please, this is very vague.
- Epic battles: DotA-style PvP sounds really really really fun. They've already said they're going to implement some kind of world PvP, so this could be an option for that implementation. Match mode also sounds interesting, except that people would complain about that as they complain about the Codex Arena and Costume Brawl (not that some of the complaints aren't justified).
- Stunning graphics: GW2 is going to be compatible with DirectX 10, and if you've seen the trailer, I don't think there's anything to worry about in this respect.
- Mini-games: you mean like festivals? I'm sure they'll do that. --[ Kyoshi ]::[ Talk ] 23:00, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you've ever played City of Heroes, they're implementing a similar leveling balance like City of Heroes has. It's a bit complicated to explain, but basically the high leveled player is lowered a little to maintain "equality" with the others.
- I also personally got tired of the DotA in Warcraft 3. Please don't put that here. What I think they're going to do is, since each town can change varying on what happens outside is that will affect how the PvP goes. Maybe. - (Boring items - GW1 was a great game but it needed deeper itemization for PvE) Well I dont understand what you mean by this.
(Crafts - Crafting, Mining, Forging, Alchemy and so on, no thanks promotes grind game, not really wanted. ) well I want to have crafting and gathering system in GW2. Seems like another way to perform endgame.--Knighthonor 08:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Eh, crafting is fine. Many like, even love, to craft. If you don't like crafting, you played a boring game. Making your own gear, gear for others, you feel a sense of accomplishment. When it turns into a chore rather than playing a game, then it is a problem. Making crafting fun is simple, give it instant gratification. Instead of skilling up, you just pick a profession and gather materials and make what you want. No skill ups. You need something another profession makes? Give mats to guildie and get it instantly. Mild mat farming, and pattern farming, is fine if done right, with no wasted time. Plus, it benefits the economy. Wazwolf 09:44, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
