Truly all opinions are valid, and you are correct that the game would continue to prosper without it, but I think it can be agreed that this idea has potential for community development. The time space between matchmaking will exist (as stated by the developers) and this would be a special opportunity to communicate cross-server and celebrate outside of the posturing of the forums.

It is my opinion that community development leads to increased satisfaction and retention, although this is just based on my gaming experience (sadly approaching 4 decades). I know I plan on the vast majority of my time to center around WvW and rated PvP, and this suggestion would certainly enrich my personal experience.
