Good suggestion and something I'd like to see implemented as well. Also see the following feedback entries for additional support for this suggestion:
- Voices based on race, gander, proffesion and more think about voices GW 2
- Mutiple Voices to choose from at Character Customization

- Not a new suggestion. Having customized voices would be a LOT harder then you seem to realize. Of course, it'd be done one of two ways. The first, have dozens of extra voice actors read all the lines our characters are going to have. The cost of this would be enormous. The other, is to have software in place that allows players to tweek the voices. As someone very familiar with audio production, I know that's not impossible...but dang is it hard to nail. My opinion, Anet has already p[ut a lot of work into the voices of the game, they don't really need to add more.--Will Greyhawk 08:04, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- They can use the same voice actors, if they hire well. Obviously, it's a lot more complicated for MMOs to offer variety, but plenty of single-player games do this.
- I like this idea because it's frustrating in GW1 when the death knell of Olias cannot be distinguished from that of a male necro player toon or trying to distinguish Ogden from various random foes. If they can make beetles sound different from termites, they can offer a few choices for male charr elementalists or female sylvari mesmers (or whatever the last prof will be). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:11, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm pretty sure they've already added more variety to the game's voices. Though, prolly not as much as you might be asking for, Ford. Five races, two genders, eight professions: 40 different voices? I'm kinda math dyslexic so...But what this guy and a number of others are asking is a bit different. They want to choose any voice for their character. Which I've said is much harder then folks seem to realize. And potentially much more expensive.--Will Greyhawk 21:55, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
