Balthazar's Rage is awfull almost as bad as it is now better to make ele cast mark of rodgort and wand ppl to death ... Raemon 08:02, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- To be honest i like the current version of Balthazar's Rage and use it quite often myself...but...let's just wait and see what will happen if the next balance update comes. Lou Wolfskin 08:21, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hell no, Burning does 14 damage per second. Balth's Rage like this would be more like Brutal Weapon in terms of power, but not requiring a lack of enchantments and being unmaintainable instead. Possibly the recharge could be lowered to 20, but I was worried about that being overpowered. It's certainly better than it is now, which is like abad combination of Mystic Vigor and Vital Boon. Comparing with MoR, the latter costs more, can be removed more easily (plus it can be seen by the enemy whereas this can only be seen while you cast it), warns the enemy who you're going to attack (and doesn't let you switch foes) and isn't AoE (or at least, the burning is AoE only if the fire damage is and your foes stay clumped up). - Leave the burning for broken SF eles theyr better at it ... Raemon 17:09, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- If SF eles are broken, you shouldn't rly be comparing anything against them... burning is very much in the theme of the Dervish - see Heart of Holy Flame, Heart of Fury et.c. - and the fact that another class can inflict it more easily means nothing, it's like saying remove Deep Wound from Dismember because Wounding Strike does it better. - 10 energy 3/4 second cast time not even maintainable and easy to strip. worth a skill slot ?
- Heart of Fury does something usefull (IAS) and the burning is only secondary and it really wouldnt make the skill worse without it.
- Heart of Holy Flame can be usefull at times (Holy dmg) and again the burning is there (secondary effect)

- The point I was making with HoF and HoHF is that burning is not something which doesn't fit the Dervish's theme. The thing with Balth's Rage is that I wouldn't want it to be overpowered given it is a fairly passive damage buff - I think making newly balanced skills err on the side of caution and then buff them up a little further if necessary is something ANet should probably do more, rather than feeding power creep more. That said, I will change the recharge to 20 seconds since it can be stripped quite easily, which should make it a bit more balanced. Widowmaker 12:05, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
