Outline[edit]
Articles should be named "Gallery of <gender> <profession> <type> armor" (e.g. "Gallery of female warrior Shing Jea armor"). Alternatively you can use the link in the armor art article's infobox.
The profession color templates are used in armor art galleries. Ensure you change the identifier to the correct profession if using the template above.
Ensure that you change every instance of "Profession" and "Type" to their correct names (capitalized) and the correct gender ("m" for male, "f" for female). The word "armor" should not be capitalized.
Follow the file naming conventions given in the syntax above. You should be able to just copy and paste it into notepad and use the replace function to change the words.
Overview[edit]
- Overview images must be dyed (or alternatively colored) and include matching headgear.
- This section cannot be omitted.
- There should be a front, back, left and right view of the armor.
- Headgear should be set to visible in your inventory options (if your character has hair that obscures their headgear, such as a monk scalp design, don't worry if it doesn't show up in the screens).
Headgear[edit]
- Only include this section if the armor set has matching headgear.
- The armor piece must be dyed gray (all armor is created pre-dyed gray).
- Remove the character's chest piece to better illustrate where the chest and head meet. This is especially important for ritualist armor.
- You may rename the table title to reflect the in game name of the headgear (i.e. changing "headgear" to "helm").
- There should be a front, back, left and right view of the armor piece.
- If no part of the headgear is visible from the back, you may remove it from the table and adjust the text to reflect the change (e.g. mesmer masks).
- In the case of monk scalp designs, a column for top view should be added to the headgear table.
Component view[edit]
- The armor pieces must be dyed gray.
- This section cannot be omitted.
- Characters of the following profession and gender should use the /attention emote for these screencaptures:
- Monk females
- Elementalist females
- If you feel that the emote is obscuring any part of the armor you may choose not to use it. Consider trying to screen capture from a different angle so that no detail is lost.
- The following views must be included:
- Front view of chest and feet equipped.
- Back view of chest and feet equipped.
- Front view of arms and legs equipped.
- Back view of arms and legs equipped.
- Headgear should not be worn.
Categories[edit]
Articles should be added to [[Category:<gender> <profession> armor galleries]].
Other information[edit]
If there is a bug or glitch specific to one gender's armor set, list it under a level three heading called "Notes". Any other information should be added to the armor art article instead.
Examples[edit]
Tips and hints[edit]
- Watch this video to see how armor shots are taken.
- Take your screencaps from this location in the Isle of the Nameless (outside Great Temple of Balthazar). This is especially helpful with tall characters as the small hill allows you to set your camera at a higher angle (about waist or chest height) and zoom in much further than if you were standing on flat ground.
- Taking pictures in this location also means you can create a PvP character with free armor (you will need to purchase gray dyes for it though). Keep in mind that many types of headgear are not available with a PvP character.
- Generally you will not have to take pictures of colored armor, as User:Emily Diehl is providing us with a number of very high quality colored overview renders. If the renders are missing, it is preferable that all armor pieces are dyed the same color. It is not necessary to specify what color they are dyed.
