Guild:Dawn Of The Forest/Advice
Welcome
This page has been put in place to give advice to our members. So read and see if the information is of any help. If it isn't ask me next time you see me logged into Guild Wars. Personally, I love to organize a intelligent and sophisticated society. Yes, it is fun to be egotistic about our accomplishments. (/laugh)
Deal Or Fraud
To Tell If Someone Is Tryng To Rip You Off In A Trade.
1.Watch their price of what they're selling.
2.If the price is suspicious check on Wikipedia.
3.If seller is trying to rip you or another player, say in the chat that he is ripping people off. usually others will join in the cause and the seller will leave.
In A Trade
1. If you are in the process of a trade; do not rush.
2.Submit your offer but do not accept until they accept your offer.
3.If you submit your offer and accept before the person you are trading with submits theirs. They can choose to not give you anything and steal your item that you are trading.
Items Used Commonly To Rip Someone Off
1.Armor is used commonly to rip off beginner players. Armor is customized for the buyer so you cannot wear it if you do not by from a armorer.
2.Customized weapons tend to be used to rip someone off in a trade, because they cannot use the weapon unless it is customized for them self.
3.Crafting materials are used to make a profit usually. If the seller could sell them to a material trader for a higher price why would they be selling their materials to players.
5.Trade able items are sold occasionally because they offer nothing good at traders.
4.Unique or perfect items need to be checked on Wikipedia in advance before they are bought. If someone is wanting to get rid of a lousy green item they sell it to a inexperienced player or a gullible player. (Some players also buy lousy unique items just to say they have a unique item.)
Personalities To Watch Out For
1.Watch out for perverts. These are disgusting and can really ruin the game for you. Your account may be banned if you are associated with one.
2.Watch out for foul mouths. These curse like crazy and just won't stop. They will break apart teams before missions by cursing.
3.Wise guys, hot shots, and other foul names used to describe them. They ruin missions by tromping through with no apparent strategy except to kill all first. If you manage to beat a mission with one in your party, they will brag about doing everything themselves and casting you aside like dust. (Even though they really did nothing.)
Just Helpful Advice While Playing
When is Too Much Flattery
1.It is not wrong to be favored by other players.
2.Never say anything mean unless you really mean it.
3.If you are looking at a possible recruitment, bow, kneel, or salute before either they or you leave your current party. (This is helpful for winning people over.)
4.Do not over flatter. If you act to kind they will be creped or annoyed by you. So be ration about what you do.
Helpful Keys
1. To hide the interface (For example if you are taking screen shots) press Ctrl - Shift - H. Press the same keys to turn the interface back on. You can do Shift - PrintScreen to quickly take a screen shot without the interface. Shift - PrintScreen also hide drop labels that Ctrl - Shift - H does not. You can hit PrintScreen to take a screen shot without losing the interface.
2.Hit / if you want to jump to use an emote instead of hitting enter.
3.Hold Ctrl to see enemy's or other players.
4.Hold Alt to see allies and interactive objects.
5.Press Alt Enter to Maximize the Guild Wars Screen.(This proves very useful when looking something up on Wiki)
In-Game Discoveries
1.Bonus Mission Pack
I highly recommend this purchase. When reading the normal description for the Bonus Mission Pack, I assumed that you could get only one copy of the booklet, but I have found out that you can receive as many booklets as you want, therefore allowing you to replay your favorite stories and obtain their riches(But the discoveries cannot be accomplished again.) So carry on with whatever you're doing, you don't have to be reading about the Bonus Mission Pack just go buy it, Or Not. Remember, I wasn't involved in writing this, so don't come complaining to me.
(If you play the Bonus Mission Pack 200 times you can have 100,000 gold. Yeah, I wouldn't want to do that either...)
2.$$Fun Way To Make Money$$
If you want to make quick, easy cash read this:
Running People
If you have a favorite campaign, try learning the maps and missions very well. The reason for doing this is being able to run anyone through them in the shortest amount of time. If you want to make lots of cash off of running, charge low around (100-Gold) and bring a full party of players to make the most profit from each run. If you do the math it equals up to allot of cash fast.
Normal Runs
Missions
O' really? Sorry dude, I don't want to spoil your fun but...you forgot the player himself, it's 700 gold per party... - by "He Who Can Do Simple Math"

Vanquishing
Another way to make money quickly, is if you beat a campaign, is to Vanquish it. (With a lvl 20 character of course.) You get allot of money and items from foes you slay, and once you kill all of the foes, you get a cash bonus. If you Vanquish every area for every campaign you get about 135. Vanquishing an area takes about an hour or two at the least.(For me anyway) Another advantage to Vanquishing is it helps your Cartographer and your "Affiliation" Titles too.
