When the PvP team of a certain guild wanted a smurf in order to compete in GvG without affecting the ratings, WitB was created. Understandably, those left behind found the idea unpopular and the decision was reached to merge the two guilds under the new WitB banner. Since then, the guild has been strong, stayed together through thick and thin, while providing a stepping stone for various players seeking greater glory and fame.
WitB embraces the free spirit attitude: "do whatever you like... within reason". As long as any action a member takes does not negatively impact the guild's reputation or other members, members are free to do what they wish at any time of the day. Despite this, guild members constantly find common goals... or even postpone their individual goals in order to assist someone else. WitB never has and never will force any member to undertake a task that they do not wish to be part of.
Guild Achievements
- Held Kurzick towns all the way up to Tanglewood Copse during the early days of Factions.
- Been on the ladder no less than three times, once in the top 100... and with no voice comm.
- Taken and held Halls on various occasions.
- Donated to and helped sponsor the 2007 Mesmer Highland Games.
Recruitment
While not actively recruiting, WitB does have an area of the forums set aside for applications to join the guild. This simple recruitment procedure enables various WitB members to get an idea of the way the applicant thinks, and determine whether or not the applicant will fit in with the guild's philosophy.
Rules
Guild rules are simple and borderline common sense.
- Do not insult your fellow guildmates, alliance members, and team mates.
- Do not insult players outside of the guild... this puts the guild into a bad light.
- While swearing (in guild chat) is tolerated, excessive foul language is not.
- Leaving a team while in a mission/explorable is strongly discouraged, especially without prior explanation. WitB is a community of players determined to have fun, and disruptive play does not fit in with that philosophy.
- Have fun! That's what a game is about, after all... fun.
- Lastly but most importantly: Do not breach the EULA.
