Zero Mercy Cup

This is an introduction to PvP and PvE clash of the guild members. This gives an opportunity for our members to use their brain for an all around ego trip. Depending on the activity, guild members will compete against each other in combat, speed, or even item collecting. This is tried as a monthly activity hosted every 5th. The entry fee to every contest is 1,000 gold, which will be divided amongst 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Lady Raenef judges the event, as well as provides cash prizes for the trio. Outside guild members are allowed to participate, but you must pay the 100g guesting fee. Spaces are limited for every event, so first come, first serve. All times provided are in PST, the same times as ArenaNet. No one likes rage quitters.

Zero Mercy Cup© AUGUST: 1v1 Player Tournament

INFO: In the month of August '08, the challengers will face each other in random scrimmage combat. Lady Raenef will provide the stakes at which you play. When matched with your opponent, you will be forced under these options: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or the rare option of CTF. Skill level is determined during the match-ups. Better skilled players will face better skilled players, and vice-versa, allowing even the most PvP unaware has a chance at spotting top placements. Any questions must be forwarded to Lady Raenef.

RULES: OVERALL:

  • Rematches will only be considered if both parties agree.
  • You may only use one healer in your party, .5 healers are allowed. (description below)
  • You may not have another human player in your party.
  • Using Footmen or Archers as a defense is an automatic disqualification.
  • Teleporter is ALLOWED.
  • Running is not allowed, kiting is. There's a difference.
  • All runner builds and other gimmick builds are not allowed.
  • If you do not show up, you will be disqualified.
  • Leaving is a loss. Disconnecting under special circumstances leads to a loss or rematch.
  • The guild hall is Imperial, thus no Guild Thieves are available.
  • All builds you're using must be shown to be before the match starts.

1v1:

  • Any build goes. Every profession has equal chance to beat any profession. Think carefully.
  • No assisted NPC help is allowed or automatic disqualification.
  • You have 5 minutes to prepare before the start of the match.

2v2:

  • Any build goes, once again.
  • Your assisted hero may be a healer or damage dealer. Your choice.
  • You have 10 minutes to prepare before the start of the match.

3v3:

  • Limited to one healer, NO .5 healers allowed.
  • Other than the previous, any build goes.
  • You have 15 minutes to prepare before the start of the match.

4v4:

  • Limited to one healer.
  • You may have one .5 healer in the group.
  • Other than the previous, any build goes.
  • You have 20 minutes to prepare before the start of the match.

Explanations of Healers and .5 Healers: A healer would be for example, a Monk running a WoH build, this a build set for healing your team mates. A .5 Healer would be a Ritualist running with Weapon of Remedy, and Communing skills. The skill sets are mixed up between some healing and damage. Smite monks do not count as Healers, and mixed with healing spells is a .5 Healer.

CTF:

  • Controlling the flag post is the object of the game.
  • First to hit the morale boost instantly wins.
  • You may use three heroes plus the provided guild henchmen to do battle.
  • If none receives a morale boost, the one holding the flag the longest will win the spot.
  • Other than the monk henchmen, only one other healer is permitted in your group.
  • NO .5 healers are allowed.
  • First one to capture the flag post receives +20 seconds added to your score.

(this is to promote capturing the flag even though the other player will cap over you.

  • Each recap of the post is +10 seconds to your score.
  • Returning the OTHER TEAM's flag is -20 seconds off the opponents score and +10 seconds to your score.
  • Match draws out until VoD. Any continuation of the battle doesn't count past 18 minutes.
  • Holding a flag at VoD earns you +5 seconds to your score at the end.

Examples of Victory: Player A held the flag post for 11 minutes and 43 seconds of the match, versus Player B who held it for 6 minutes and 17 seconds. Player A also recieves +25 seconds for capturing the post first, and +5 bonus seconds for holding a flag at VoD. Thus, his time is increased to 12 minutes and 13 seconds. However, Player B killed Player A six times, returning his flag each time. That brings down Player A's time to 10 minutes and 13 seconds, increasing Player B's to 7 minutes and 17 seconds. Player A still wins this round, but the effects of the game matter.
