Killing the Guild Lord is the main objective of each opposing team in GvG battle. Both teams have a level 20 Guild Lord in their base. He is a powerful NPC with 70 Armor, 1680 health and 5 pips of health regeneration.
At the start of each GvG battle, the Guild Lord cannot lose more than 25 health per second. Over the first 12 minutes of the game, the health loss limit gradually increases up to 300 health per second.
If the Guild Lord takes damage that would go over this limit, the difference is brought by his Amulet of Protection. If the Guild Lord loses health due to damage-over-time effects or other direct loss of health, then once every second, his amulet heals him for the amount of health he lost that exceeds the limit.
The limit will increases at a constant rate of 11.6% per minute, starting when the game clock reads 0:00. Guild Lords can take a huge amount of damage, however, two solo gankers can take him out later in the game if they can perform a split.
Maintained Enchantments can be cast on the Guild Lord but while the healing from Divine Favor occurs the actual spell does not take effect and spells like Holy Veil and Purifying Veil do not remove hexes or conditions on the Guild Lord.
In PvE and PvP, the Guild Lord is the NPC to talk to to add services to the guild's hall.

Guild hall services[edit]
The guild hall can be improved by the addition of various NPCs. These can be bought from the Guild Lord, who is usually located in the central or main area of the guild hall. Each of these service NPCs provide the same exact service as their equivalent found in towns and outposts. A basic guild hall, in addition to the Guild Lord, will also have Tolkano, the tournament NPC, and the core henchmen.
If a guild is allied with the Luxons or the Kurzicks, there will also be an Alliance Battles NPC (Luxon Navigator or Kurzick Kommandant) and a Faction rewards NPC (Luxon Scavenger or Kurzick Bureaucrat) whose names are based on which faction you are allied to.
