Guild Wars Wiki:Game updates
This page is currently a guideline draft. If the draft is expanded and consensus is reached on the talk page, it will become an accepted guideline. |
Game updates are an important part of Guild Wars Wiki. They help to keep the Guild Wars community informed about changes that have been implemented into the Guild Wars game. Game updates pages should be made in a specific format. Once a Game update page is released on Guild Wars Wiki it becomes a major target for vandalism.
Posting Updates/Formatting[edit]
After a game update page has been released on The Guild Wars Website any contributor (IP or User) may place the information on a separate page with the correct category in place (such as the month). Each game update page should be created with a size two header on the top named ==Update <current date>==, after which size three category headers (===<name here>===) can be placed on the page (such as "Skill changes", "Misc.", "Guild Wars Wiki Notes", etc.). We perfer that the page not be created until the updates have been released on http://www.guildwars.com (with the exception of Emily Diehl). Please do not place your personal opinions on the update on the page, if you would like, you can place your opinions on the talk page.
Dealing With Vandalism[edit]
If vandalism is becoming a problem on the game update's page, you should revert the vandalism as soon as possible. Please note that when reverting vandalism you should ignore the one revert rule. If the vandalism becomes an issue or is on-going you may contact a sysop on the admin noticeboard, and request temporary protection of the page.
Sysops, please note that if a user becomes persistent about vandalizing the game update's page, do not hesitate to give the user a short and reasonable block.
Notes[edit]
- Remember to always assume good faith even if an edit seems like vandalism
- Try not to get into edit wars with other users if you have different view points on something, resolve it on the talk page not in the article summary.
