Userpage/Text conflicts
Heeeellpp! The font keeps changing all the time (every page). And on my Userpage, some tables are like all wacko. Specifically this one: Keith Equipment and Builds. Why does it do all this stuff? Xerir 15:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Could you provide a screenshot? It looks fine to me. poke | talk 23:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Of course it fixes itself after I say it's messed up. I guess that's like...Life. Or Murphy's Law. Thanks anyways! Xerir 12:01, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
User talk:Gaile Gray/Guild Wars 2 suggestions
(Copied from Help:Ask a wiki question)
User:Aspectacle and I are consistently getting a 500 error when going to Gaile's GW2 talk page. Wonder if anyone else is getting that problem? It's a server error so it's unlikely to be due to the browser or connection. -- Hong 00:11, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Still getting this 500 error after the weekend. -- Hong 01:42, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, from looking at the page, I am guessing that this error has something to do with its length. I think that it should be archived into various sections, or at least split apart. I'll mention it to Gaile, although I am sure she wouldn't mind if someone jumped in to help :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Watchlists
Both my Watchlists on GWW and GW2W give me a database error. — ク Eloc 貢 17:04, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Same here, earlier it was doing that on pretty much any page I tried to go to but it seems to be fine on the majority of pages now. --Kakarot 17:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- It seems to happen to me only on my GWW watchlist. So far, I haven't had any problems with normal articles, nor with GW2W. Also, GWW seems to be loading slightly slower than usual. Is there a server problem or something? -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Not a big deal, but the images that I have recently uploaded are not showing up on my contributions list. I waited over 24 hours to see if it was a server lag, but still not showing up. Examples are Lou, of the Knives map, Xuekao, the Deceptive map, and Spiritroot Mossbeard map. Like I said, not a big deal, but seems to be a bug starting on March 3, since the March 2 uploads appeared immediately on the list. Oldmonk 19:59, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm... strange. Some of your uploads do appear to be missing from your contributions but do show up in your upload log. My uploads for 3rd, 4th, and 5th of March seems to tally though. I wonder what's different about your uploads. -- ab.er.rant 01:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I believe it's cause he uploaded the images on top of other ones, and as such it doesn't touch the image page, only the image. Thus the image page has no reason to appear in contributions. — Galil 01:30, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I will check that out. Thanks for responding so quickly! Oldmonk 02:08, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

501 Error
Is this normal? When trying to post on the Ask A Game Question page, I get an edit conflict. I then try again, and get a 501 error with the page saying
"Method Not Implemented
POST to /index.php not supported."
Is this normal or a bug? --People of Antioch talk 03:04, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- This happens from time to time, but not with all edit conflicts. I'm still not sure why :P It's not normal, but I don't know what kind of bug it can be either. - anja 10:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Ingame searching
When I try and use the search from ingame it says it can't display the page, but I hit F5 and it displays it. — ク Eloc 貢 05:00, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I believe this has to do with the way the wiki formats URLs. The game most likely doesn't urlencode the search term before opening the page. What did you search for? — Galil 01:33, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Internal Server Error
um....ok this is really odd I can go to all pages on the wiki but Gaile's GW2 suggestion page and Recent Changes, whenever I go there I get the page the says INTERNAL SERVER ERROR. I waited it out and still had it I e-mailed arenaweb@ncsoft.com and havent gotten a reply yet. It has been almost 7-10 hours I have had this, is it a bug or what??? Thanks --Shadowphoenix 21:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- The page is so large that the server doesn't like that, perhaps? Anyone technical care to give a proper response? Calor 21:49, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- An internal server error is internal; when it disappears, it seems to be fixed then. poke | talk 21:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Nah, Gaile's page is just at the 400kb mark :). Both pages work fine here, so it may be some other thing... GWWT related maybe?--Fighterdoken 21:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

- I am sending an email to IT this morning about several items, so I will mention this in there as well. If you could provide a screenshot, that would really help us to try to figure out what could be going on. Wiki bugs (especially ones related to odd caching) are really hard to track down. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:46, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- When this bug appears normally all user settings (including user css and javascript) are applied as if you really were that user. For a specific time you cannot make that page available to you as your own user unless you use action=purge (always!). That are the things I know about that. poke | talk 21:52, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Regrettably, hitting "Prnt Screen" doesn't save your screenshot in a folder like GW's does. I've lost it. The only difference on the page was the user bar up top, and I didn't have the GWWT at all (I assume it is because that user didn't have them). --People of Antioch talk 00:04, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

- That's confusing. What I meant to say is, my browser cached the page while I was logged out, so whenever I went back it showed that logged out load-version. If I forced refresh it would show me as logged in. - BeX 06:23, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

- I am going to leave this up here for the time being. I've passed the issue on to IT already, but the problem happens so sporadically that it's really hard for us to track down. Luckily, the issue is harmless since you're not really logged in as another user. It's just displaying the incorrect name. It's definitely some kind of a cache issue, but other than that, I'm not sure what to say about it. I'll send another email to see if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks for being patient, in any case :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 17:44, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Editing Nickname Problem
I hope I'm putting this in the right spot. I'm trying to put the following WikiCode into my nickname:
File:Tero Gein Tero Gein Charge.jpg Tero t c
...and, I've tried this version of the same Nickname...
File:Tero Gein Tero Gein Charge.jpg Tero t c
However, whenever I try to hit "Save," I get a webpage saying HTTP 501 Not Implemented/HTTP 505 Version Not Supported. I've tried closing and reopening Internet Explorer, tried it on 2 different computers, tried it with the "Raw signatures" box both checked and unchecked, and no matter what I still get redirected to the same Error Webpage. Is there something wrong with the coding of my Nickname, or is this a site-related bug?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Tero Gein (talk).
- With some playing around, I think the problem was with putting in the contributions. I changed it so that it only included my user page and talk page, and it works fine. Wierd. --File:Tero Gein Tero Gein Charge.jpg Tero talk 21:11, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Logged in a different user
The cache issue where you are logged in as a different user just happened to me. I logged out..and I was wonder why my ip had changed so I recored it. I cleared my cache to realise it wasn't my ip but someone else's ip. So its still out there and it seems to be with IE7. - If it helps. When I was not logged in (forgetful me :)), I managed to do 3 COMPLETE edits under another ip (shows in contribs). I had selected "use automatic script" in FF, and auto detection in IE7. But when I turned those both off, it returned to my ip. - Heya again, everyone! I got an email back about this this morning, and this particular issue is occurring because of a known MySQL bug. We know the fix for it, but the upgrade is going to require a very short restart period. IT is testing out the fix on test servers here to make sure everything will go smoothly when we move forward and fix the problem. (reset indent) Yup, it's got something to do with .pngs right now. I know that the team is looking at it as we speak, so I'll keep you all updated :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:58, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- I hear a security patch wasn't patched echoing somewhere. Oh and some jpgs are affected, but not recent ones. Dominator Matrix 21:01, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Emily, I don't know if it will help, but when I refreshed the image page after first seeing that corrupted warning, it didn't give me the warning, but the image was just a white box and said its size was 0x0. Couldn't reproduce that, though (every other time I refreshed it gave the warning). ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 21:04, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm in contact with the folks fixing the issue, so I'll pass this stuff along to them. From what they've told me, they know what's going on, and are working to resolve it. Again, I am super sorry for the downtime/broken time. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 21:11, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok now I don't see the logos for A.Net or the background. Still fixing?Nevermind! Dominator Matrix 18:15, 22 April 2008 (UTC)- Seems to be fixed on GWW.. but it's now happening on GW2W (it was fine before). -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Brains. I'll pass it along right away. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 22:35, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Just noticed that my previous comment didn't turn up on recent changes or the page history. Meh? -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Page history
Brains' comments aren't showing up in page history here, but going through the diffs you can see them. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 01:41, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Alright, I figured this out. The server time keeps changing by four hours back and forth. If I edit now at 10:01 EST, but the server goes back four hours before someone else edits the same page at 10:03 EST, their edit looks like it happened at 6:03 EST, and that's where it shows on the history. I think. It's confusing, though, because the server time seems to only change for some things (the diffs still show all edits in the right order) and all sorts of stuff like that. But this problem is caused by the weird randomly-changing-by-four-hours thing. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 02:03, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I noticed this when WanderingTraveler responded to something on his talk and it showed up halfway down my watchlist ;) ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 02:04, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- The same seems to be happening on GW2 wiki (they are on the same server after all :). Take a look at the RC the evidence is obvious there - a page is edited before it is listed as newly created. I was making changes to pages and not seeing the change on the resulting page after the update. It was a little confusing. --Aspectacle 04:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

- IDK why its happening, but it needs to stop. A vandal could get away with things this way....Dominator Matrix 07:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi guys...I just asked about this and found out that it was fixed early this morning. If you still notice it happening, please let me know right away so I can pass it along. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:13, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
