Couldn't the image lists be produced by DPL, similar to how the Images needed project is? -- Brains12 \ talk 14:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

That's what I originally planned to do, but the image pages are tagged, not the article that uses it. That means, there's no info for DPL to read. Unless I'm mistaken?— K A Y C H 15:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Unknowing help

Without realizing there was an actual project working on this, I've been going through the Image Update Needed category, and replacing those that I could get to easily, mostly collector and other non combatant NPC's. I removed the ones I have replaced from the Prophecies list, but there are several others as well. -- Wyn 16:58, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I have an image of Bound Kaolai, but a stupid afflicted monk got in the way just as I fell over dead... not sure if it's usable or not. I'll upload it and you can decide whether or not to revert.-- Wyn 18:16, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I have updated a bunch more NPC images, but I have discovered I'm horrible at taking screenshots of hostiles... they won't stand still :P. I have a few Prophecies collectors to get to yet, and then I will start on the EotN ones. Unfortunately, I've done most quests, so trying to get some of them that are quest specific is not going to be possible for me. I hope what I've done helps :D -- Wyn 23:54, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Dynamic list

Here is the first of some dynamic lists, I'll make for this projects. It is not possible to split by campaign (that would require to many checks) so the lists are split by the infobox the article page uses.

Suggestion

I would like to suggest that a type parameter be added to the {{image update}} template and that Category:Image update needed be broken into subcategories. For one thing, the DPL lists can only handle 500 entries, and it's making the NPC list really difficult to access, for another it would allow people to more easily identify what they are looking for. Some ideas for subcategories: Hostile, Friendly, Thing, Weapon, Armor. -- Wyn 18:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I started to subcategorize the Category:Image update needed with Category:Armor image update needed and when through the entire list and added the category to them manually. -- Wyn 07:54, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I changed the list (moved your old one) to a dynamical one, as you don't need such manual categories. The problem is not really the amount of DPL calls but the amount of data that is included into the npc page (it includes the whole NPC infobox and the location section).

The new armor list now lists all images which are used on a page that is in an armor category (a category with "armor" in its name); and I fixed the npc list a bit so it should display more often :P poke | talk 17:09, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Ok, so I needed something to do, and was having a hard time loading the NPC page, so I have split it into a couple of categories. There is now a list of Friendly NPC's... most of whom are quest dependent for their appearance in their location, and I also created a Map category, though poke left before he could help me sort out creating the nice list since some were tied to NPC userbox, and some were tied to Other. There are 25 maps, all can be found in Category:Map image update needed and hopefully poke will help out getting the list created soon. What's left on the original NPC list is only hostiles which I am absolutely horrid at getting screenshots of. -- Wyn 21:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)\

Nav box

I added the project nav box to the actual category page, just to make it easier for anyone who is actually working off the category page (which I do sometimes), or because they don't realize the project actually exists. All the type lists except the Friendly NPC list are now fully automated, thanks to poke :D. -- Wyn 22:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Updates

I updated the images Experiment Krewe Member (axe), Auri's Wand, and Air Staff. I didn't read the note about not removing them from the page and accidentally did so. Sorry! Can someone fix that for me? I'd be really grateful! EDIT: I also updated the image for Yammiron, Ether Lord. When I removed the tag, however, it seemed to remove the image from the page of images to be updated. I'm not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong or not, so I hope someone can enlighten me and get everything to be the way it should be! --Michael 04:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Removing the tags automatically removes them from the dpl generated lists. The static lists require manual removal, and I don't think it is a big problem since I don't know how up to date the static lists are anyway. -- Wyn 05:13, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Static List

Once the remaining campaign lists are updated, the static list can be removed as the new improvement to {{image update}} tag templete (map,armor, friendly npc) will incorporate them to the main list. Yoshida Keiji talk 11:16, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Search for Orphan or Unused image files

There is a chance that an image needing update my already have another version loaded around the wiki but not properly linked, if the subject target is hard to get, it will be wise to double check this. Yoshida Keiji talk 18:11, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
