Autoclick- Legal ?

I'll second it. Any kind of autoclickers are not allowed. This includes Drunkard. There was talk about that on one of Gaile Gray's pages a long time back. — Poki#3 (talk) 01:39, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Although the above are most likely correct, I see no problems with using it for spammable party points, as it provides you with no evident sort of advantage or ability to gain via afking. Use of any third party program that performs in game functions is a violation of the EULA. For spammable party points, just click them yourself. It's not like it takes that long. Seriously, you're risking losing everything you've ever accomplished during your whole game play (which includes genuine achievements such as beating the game, Skill-unlocking, Armor-crafting, title progress) just to try to bypass a small annoyance (double-clicking an item from time to time).

Connections today

what's wrong with guild wars today? When logging in it takes to long and says Connecting......for like a very long time. Lots of Lag when I do get on and lots of Dcs. Not just me too Internets just fine

First of all, its an event what did you expect. Even I braced myself for disconnections but fortunately i haven't had any. While your normal internet connection is fine, its connection the server maybe weaker due to a variety of reasons. Perhaps you should try again later. Drop rate of swords versus bows

After several years of playing - mostly during the early years of GW, though i find the same thing since i recently started playing again - i have had many more good bows than good swords drop for me. Is the drop rate for swords lower than the drop rate for bows (and if so, why?), or am i just having an unusually long unlucky streak with my warrior? 83.163.223.50 16:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Basicly all weapons have the same drop rate.certain foes may have a slightly higher drop rate of a certain weapon to others, but they're all mainly the same. Your just unlucky ;) --Neil2250 16:45, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Loading Problems

My Guild wars game won't load. If I click on a character and press play, it goes to the loading screen but doesn't load. It stays at 0%. I'm not sure if it is a computer related problem such as a space issue or just outdated PC so that is why I am asking. If anybody has had a problem like this I would be very thankful for some helpful feedback. Try repairing the exe/dat files as follows (see Switches for similar info):

1. Create a shortcut to your gw.exe application file.
2. Right-click the shortcut and choose, "properties."
3. In the Target field, add " -image" at the end of whatever is there. (in front of the word is a single space and a minus sign)
4. Press OK to save the change.
5. Run the shortcut.

Well, I don't know if I'm doing it right or not but nothing seems to be working. One question, is the gw.exe application file the guild wars game shortcut that you click to play or is it something else. But if i was doing it all right then i guess the problem is bigger than I had though. Thank you for the help nevertheless.

You're probally not doing it right. Go here Command line arguments and look at the -image command. It has all the instructions on how to do it. Also gw.exe is not a shortcut. A shortcut is a separate file that refers to the target file or directory. On Macs they are called "aliases" I think. --Lania 18:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Right — you can right-click the gw.exe file and choose, "create shortcut" from the list (wording varies slightly, depending on your windows version). (Confusingly, the shortcut could be named "gw.exe.") You'll know you are on track, if, when you right-click, and choose properties (see above), you get the "Target" field. If you have the application itself, you won't.

If none of that is working, you might try the extreme solution of uninstalling Guild Wars (again) and then re-installing. If you go that route, it's worth adding the expansions (that will make things go faster when Guild Wars downloads all the subsequent updates).

It's too bad Guild Wars doesn't have a loader application; those allow you to choose to update, repair, check-integrity (plus set options) without having to learn any programming.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:15, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Can't see Weapon animation

Do someone knows what is happening, no matter what i do on the graphic options, i can't see almost all the EOTN weapon's animation, a fews listed are bone dragon staff, crystal flame staff, embercrest staff, astral staff and etc etc. But the strange thing is i can see the animation on my frog scepter.

I have my shader rating changed to high but still i can't see the animation on the weapons. All the weapons are from EOTN. Please help, Thanks.

If Guild Wars has been running more than 5 or something hours most environment and weapon animations will be frozen. Try exiting and starting Guild Wars again. Manifold 15:15, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi i have tried exiting guild wars and restarting my computer, but i still can't see the animation after i logged in.

I have my visual setting set to the highest, but still can't see any animations on the weapons. But you are right, i can see animated model weapons just not those animated textures weapons. But anyway my graphic card i am using is Nvidia Geforce4 MX 440, could it be the problem of my graphic card?

Your graphics card is probably the problem. GeForce 4 is a very old series of cards. GeForce 4 MX is a budget series that's performance wise often worse then GeFroce 3, and it lacks some hardware DirectX8 shaders. It's a very likely culprit. cant log in

ive tryed everything i can thinck of i forgot my password once and reset it then i accidentally reset my password again and typed it in and all i got was an error notification stating either my account name or password is wrong and i tryed again and again then i stopped trying for about a week reset my password and still cant log in i cant remember any names of the characters cause i havent tryed again for about 2 years so how can i log in is there anyway i can?

Could you be more specific about what's giving you trouble? There's lots of small things that can make a big difference. For example, try changing the skills you are using or how many points you assign to each attribute. If you can afford it, buy health or armor runes to help your character survive longer. Restarting Missions

Okay. My question is this:

I was in the process of doing the Ruins of Surmia Mission and was disconnected from the internet before I finished. I was then unable to restart the quest. ie. it disappeared from my Quest Log and I was unable to get it again from the Warmaster Riga. The problem is that I am now also unable to do the Nolani Academy Mission. Can you please help me, so that I can complete these 2 missions?? Much appreciated.

Chatting

When trying to chat with characters while playing the game, I am told that no one hears me. I am brand new to this game and am completely lost. There is so much documentation to this game? Trial versions have limitations, one of which, as you've discovered, is the fact that you cannot chat with other players, or join parties. Start with the FAQ, or the Guide to Prophecies. -- FreedomBound 13:30, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Trial account can join party/guild and can chat using Team, Guild and Alliance chats as well as Whisper other players (CTRL+ENTER while targeting someone); they can't use Local/Trade chat and can't access the Battle Isles (PvP area). "No one hears you" message probably means you left the outpost and was alone on an explorable area or tried to use your Team chat with no other player on your party. Since Trial's Local chat is disabled, even if you're in a town, you can't talk to anyone unless they're on your party (or you've joined a Guild). If you know someone in real life who plays Guild Wars, you should contact them to invite you to join their guild; guild mates usually help new players faster than following in-game advices/quests. From time to time, there are people recruiting new players to their guilds as well: try checking big towns (Ascalon City, Droknar's Forge, Kaineng Center and Kamadan, for example). --NIN37 02:43, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

You can get a moss spider as a pet by using a Moss Spider Egg, from a Gift of the Traveler, through the Zaishen Menagerie (also unlockable there with faction or Zaishen coins). Digit rounding

This is actually part game question, part wiki. So I'm looking for information on how GW works with rounding digits and actually found almost nothing, except this (on a talk page): [1]. Anybody have any other links or things about digit aronding? Perhaps a page should be made for it or a redirect for "Rounding" to that page as it's all that I could find. Round up from anything greater than .5, and if it's exactly .5 round to the nearest even number seems to apply to everything I've looked into. Backsword also once said that numbers are "stored as integers between calculations". Manifold 15:12, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

The original wiki claims that the round-to-even method is used (when relevant). Expertise has to use rounding (b/c energy expenses are whole numbers), but Fast Casting does not (since casting times and recharge times might be counted in hundredths of a second or less).

Being a Kurzick does not stop you from travelling through the Luxon territory. You're perfectly able to wander over there and cap it. Another option would be to unlock it on your account, and use an elite tome to get the skill. G R E E N E R 08:31, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

There's also, strictly speaking, no such thing as "being Kurzick". The only restrictions are your current faction balance for talking to NPCs, and doing the appropriate quests (Befriending the ___) to get to the appropriate areas. Manifold 15:15, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Maybe they decided to tone down the drops since it is a copy cat of the actual event. Who cares anyhow. Events are about playing mini games with people and doing pve while getting some different drops not about farming the shit outta guild wars to make an extra cyber-buck. If Anet was really interested in stopping farming bots they should consider making it so you can get the consumable titles without farming.... You either have to farm for the cons or you have to farm for the gold to by them.... I remember that some people where complaining months ago that the NCsoft website allows passwords to be longer then Guild Wars can take. I don't know if they fixed that. If your password is exceptionally long, try shortening it a bit. Sliver Armor

Why did they change the Silver Armor now it doesn't work right. It use to be good now it makes no sence because, if you read the discription it says. "one foe is struck for 5...31 Earth Damage". It says one foe only one not all feos around user just one so please Guild wars people change it back.

couple of years

it has been a couple of years around 3 or more since ive played guild wars, i tried loging on yesterday and it wouldnt let me. I changed the password two times in case i typed it out wrong and wouldnt work. i created an ncsoft account thinking that might be it with the same e-mail as my guild wars account name and still wouldnt let me, worse it says that i do not own any guild wars game. a freind of mine created a trial account and it wouldnt let him log in ither. You're better off not buying it at this point, tbh. If you want, though, it's possible to buy it through the NCSoft store, which will allow you to play immediately. Gaert's Sword

I'm trying to find information on a character named Gaert -- there's a sword for sale online called Gaert's Sword and according to all the ads for it, the sword is patterned after the weapon of an npc in Guild Wars. I can't find anything anywhere about the character except for a possible quotation from him: "The penalty for trespassing is death" and an artwork clip of a fellow with wild long white hair, wearing armor and swinging a sword about as big as he is. Cant find Kormir

Hi, i checked wiki, and it said after the missions Rilohn Refuge and Pogahn Passage are done, Kormir should appear in the Command Post to give the quest Crossing The Desolation. I have done those missions, and want very much to continue, but Kormir is nowhere to be found. I would appreciate very much to get a solution to this, because i love the game and want very much to finish it. Thank you.

Actually, it says that you can only get Crossing the Desolation quest after doing either Jennur's Horde mission or Nundu Bay mission (see this page for details). After doing Rilohn or Pogahn missions you should do Moddok Crevice mission. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 13:50, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

hi, I am about to upgrade my armour, however, sometime ago I read that you could do something which would enable you to keep the existing runes, eg health and armour runes. Under the compass, there will be 5 little tabs. The first is used to move all of your party (excluding players, of course) to a specified spot you click either on the ground, in the compass, or on the mini map. Deldrimor weapons

Can crafted Deldrimor weapons (Deldrimor Axe) be salvaged? Cause none of the individual Deldrimor weapon articles indicates it with the commonsalvage or raresalvage template parameter and Category:Contains deldrimor steel is empty. --Silver Edge 03:59, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

The Deldrimor weapons are unique weapons ("greens") and therefore cannot be salvaged. The Unique page can give you more information. --Wingsy 11:48, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Discord Functionality

Guild wars will not load!

When i click on the guild wars icon and the little grey window comes up t just doesnt load it stays at 0 perent all the time! I dont think its my internet because internet explorer is working fine and pretty quickly aswell. how can i fix this?
