Guys I need help!
Guys, Im not very good at templates so I built the page from scratch, if you look at my page you will see that the userbox chart on the left is stand alone, I want to make one o fthose charts that tell about my charecter to the left of it, but when i start building the box, show preview shows me it below userboxes! Guys how do I do what I want to do?The Savior 11:27, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

- Your wiki account can not be deleted, but if you wish your page to be deleted, simply tag it with
{{delete|speedy|U1 User requested}}{{delete|U1|speedy}}. -- Wyn talk 04:54, 13 July 2009 (UTC) - Unfortunately there is no wat to delete/cancel an account, but you can tag your userpage for deletion {{delete|u1|why you want it deleted}} Your talk page cannot be deleted either. Changing User Name
I was wondering if it was in any way possible to change my username on this wiki, as in from Arduinna, to Arduin. I know I could easily make another account with the username Arduin, but that would mean porting over all my stuff to the new user space. If this is the only way for me to adopt that new name, would it be allowed for me to post a link on 'Arduinna's page' to the new 'Arduin's page', or do I need to delete/archive all content form that abandoned user space, so someone else could potentially use the username Arduinna? Much appreciated. --Arduinna 13:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- We don't have access to the user database, so no, there is no way to change your username other than creating a new account. What people who have done this have done is simply redirect their old userspace to the new one. Archiving all the old talk page stuff and link it on the new talk page. No one else would have access to your old userspace unless you gave them the password. -- Wyn talk 13:53, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Okay thanks Wyn. Guess I got me some rebuilding to do. --Arduinna 13:56, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Once you register the new name, you can simply use the move tab to move your userpages to the new name. That will automatically create the redirects. -- Wyn talk 13:59, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- But I suppose I need to redirect all images myself? Ah well, I'll see what happens. Thanks for the help :) --Arduinna 14:15, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

- Just wondering, why can't I move page's on this new User's account, but was able on my former? --Arduin 15:23, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm just guessing on this but it might be because the new account hasn't been autoconfirmed yet. This is all based on the User group rights which mentions move-subpages and move-rootuserpages for new users (labeled Users) but not move and movefile as the autoconfirmed users does. If I remember correctly it takes a few days or a certain number of edits to change from "User" to "User and Autoconfirmed User". Please note that I might be wrong about some of this info since it's been so long since this kind of topic came up and also I might be reading that page wrong too. --Kakarot 13:34, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

- You might want to request a user renaming extension on GWWT:TECH, to allow to keep all your contributions. And yes, your new account needs to be confirmed first, which might take some time and contributions. poke | talk 16:32, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

- OK, I saw another one, and it's not in the magic words or templates list. What's {{#dpl}} do? -- Lacky 10:17, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- dpl is an extension that allows templates to call specific data from various sources on the wiki. -- Wyn talk 10:52, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) dpl stands for Dynamic Page List. It's an extension for the mediawiki software used to generate dynamic lists; depending on the parameters set; in bulleted form (by default). On GWW one common use is for skill listing as shown on the List of elite skills although the actual dpl comes from the skill table template. The list generated being dynamic will change without requiring a user to manually edit the list if certain conditions are met. As an example using the above skill list, if a skill was changed to an elite skill it would then have the category Category:Elite skills added to it's page this would cause said skill to get added to that list automatically. There is a manual on the usage of dpl but at the moment time is short so I can't find it but Poke is one of the users that is most familiar with its usage although there are others. --Kakarot 10:57, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Tables and Parser help
I'm trying to find a way to add content, to an infobox, that would not be displayed in the article the infobox is used, but would still be manipulated by templates that use the infobox. In other words, I would like to create content that is invisible to users but is visible to the wiki, so it can be called and manipulated. I have tried using the command <!-- and --> that is often used for hidden text, but whatever I place within those brackets cannot be seen by the wiki, so it's as if it didn't exist.
The longer version is: I'm trying to adapt one of the infoboxes we are planning to use on the feedback space (this one) so it has a "Profession" entry, which would automatically be filled (by using "if" commands) when someone makes a suggestion about changing a Guild Wars skill. I don't want the Profession entry to be visible in the suggestions using the infobox (like this one), but I would like the DPL lists based on the infobox (like this one) to be able to display the Profession entry. I would then ask the DPL list to show the profession as the Tango icons, allowing people to quickly see which profession any suggestion is about.
This is something rather complex and I don't think I'm explaining very well what I mean, but does anyone know how to do that kind of thing?
(And while I'm here, does someone know if there is an equivalent to the parser {{BASEPAGENAME}} command for DPL use?) Erasculio 17:15, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Moving pages/images
Howdy. When moving pages it states that you should "check for double or broken redirects" because "you are responsible for making sure that links continue to point where they are supposed to go". If you don't want to keep the redirect page and there are archive pages or talk pages (found using the [[Special:WhatLinksHere]] on the page) are you allowed to modify talk/archive pages to change the link to direct to the new one?
For instance I was looking at moving the image "File:Storm Bow Dyed.jpg" to the proper name of "File:Storm Bow dye chart.jpg" as part of a project, but using the "What links here" function it shows that their is an archive page that links to the image. Do I go into the archive page and modify the comment to link to the now new page, do I just leave it a message (such as a strikethrough and/or <link removed>) somewhere along the lines of the Talk pages guidelines, or do I leave it as a red link? Sorry if that is confusing or obviously stated somewhere else. Thanks! Ironically I would need to edit this message again if I did move it to remove the red link. Mystical Celestia 05:10, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Links in archives can simply be corrected. Just note it in your edit summary. -- Wyn talk 05:29, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Unable to remember or change wiki account password
I'm unable to remember my password I created on my account for the wiki, and apparently I didn't set up an e-mail account on it to receive a new password. Is there anything I can do to have a new password set? Thank you in advance. 74.40.135.18 18:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- If you don't have a linked email, it's impossible to retrieve your password for your account, I'm afraid. Since from my understanding, sysops don't have access to the user database, the only option for you would be to create a new account. Besides, if you didn't even have a linked email yet, you wouldn't be able to do much on that account anyway, so I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be at loss of any contributions or anything. ~Ryuu[ Talk | Meow :3 ] 01:36, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Actually the only difference between having an email and not having one is the ability to send and recieve email through the wiki. Drogo Boffin 02:01, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

- I was informed wrong then. Drogo Boffin 02:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- You only need an email for being able to use EmailUser and to recover your password. Move/Edit rights, being autoconfirmed, is based on something else. poke | talk 10:27, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Prior to authorizing my email on my redirect account, I recall having some privileges not yet available? Mmmm, mayhaps not. ~Ryuu[ Talk | Meow :3 ] 00:33, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- emailconfirmed requires the e-mail address to be confirmed on the account, while autoconfirmed generally is applied to accounts older than four days (I think it can be set to different options, however). Your redirect account was probably still new enough that it hadn't been autoconfirmed yet. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Numbers by creatures names
I don't know if I'm just missing the legend to reading the pages, but when you see on an article for an explorable area the type of enemies in the area, it has the profession (I am assuming that's the enemy's profession), then a number (example, 6) and another number in parenthesis, and then the enemy's name.
What do each of the numbers mean???
Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
- Necromancer 6 (23) Charr Ash Walker
24.9.83.145 01:02, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Guardian Trin
- The first number indicates the Charr Ash Walkers in the explorable area or mission are level 6 and the number in parenthesis means they would be level 23 in hard mode. --Silver Edge 02:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

- You misspelled Amethyst as Ameythst is your username. Perhaps that's why. (you're trying to log in with the correct spelling.) And I'll already answer your next question: No, changing your username is not possible. Price Guide?
Is there, has there ever been or are there plans for the Wiki to have a rough price guide for the various items on the game?
Primarily being the prices that the items tend to sell for and what the most popular items are? I could see it as a group project, numerous people working together to form one definitive guide that can be used by many/any to see what they should be selling things at.
It'd at the very least help new people, such as myself, when they attempt to figure out if a gold weapon they just picked up is worth anything major or if it's a minor item.
The price guide would only feature items that sell for...you know...20k or above or something like that. you know what I mean? :D
--ArlanKels 17:16, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

What is the significance of the 0..12..15 points
What is the significance of the choice of the 0..12..15 points in skill progressions, e.g. in Template:Gr? It looks like the curve is linear, so I'd guess one interior point is as good as another, but there must be a reason why 12 is important. (I'd swear I saw the answer to this somewhere on the wiki, but I'll be damned if I can find it now.) --DryHumour 05:11, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

TAGS ?
On the look for guilds by tags list, my guild is not on the list and it says for valid tags ,so, how do you get a valid tag for your guild?????.
- The list is a static list that is only updated very rarely (due to the high data amount). If you have a valid guild tag (like by following the example in the example guild), your guild will sooner or later appear in the list. To be sure, I'll update the list now. poke | talk 16:38, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
