Blocked for an account issue usually means the ownership of the account is unclear, and is permanent until someone proves that the account is rightfully theirs. If you want to save time, scan your paper copies of your original access keys and send them in. For some reason, support believes that's an automatic proof of ownership thing, even though it would be piteously easy to photoshop it. --Jette 01:18, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I would, but I'm really just being lazy. It would probably take at least three hours: 45 minutes of waiting for somebody on a forum to reply to my request for what font they used, then another 30 minutes of me beating the scanner into submission so I can get picture that isn't at an angle because I hate that, and then an hour 45 minutes of editing the image dot-by-dot with the pencil tool because I decided it just wasn't worth the effort involved to do it the "easy" way. My Email Is "Apparently" Wrong?

I have not played Guild Wars for a year or so, as my computer was wiped and therfore I had to re-install it recently. When I opened the Client where I usually log in, I entered my email and password, but it denied me access because the information was not recognised. So, assuming my password was wrong, I clicked the "Reset password" link and followed the instructions, but when I entered my Email address, it says it is not a valid address, yet I have used it for Guild Wars before, and many other games. Despite this, I can still log into my MSN with that email address. Now, I can't even check my own email because apparently my email address is wrong, when it is clearly not. I cannot reset my Guild Wars password because I cannot enter my Emails to see anything,

I hope you understand my problem, and any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

First, you need to buy the game, install it and run the client. On the login screen, click on "Create Account or Add Access Key", check the "Create New Guild Wars account." box and click Next. You got scammed. I hope you bought it on eBay or something similar, if that's the case, contact the company and inform them that the game was illegally sold or something, they should refund your purchase. if you get to the picking your character your account is not being blocked. Its more likly a video rendering issue... either a file is bad or your video card is freeking out as it tries to load the location. have you tried reloading the client software? MrPaladin talk 13:09, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

If you feel certain than you are innocent, you could speak to Gaile about it, but if you do so, please read this first. GMs are notorious for ignoring what's being said to them, but sometimes I can't blame them if the English is atrocious. First thing to do is check and double check the email and password and make sure you are spelling everything correctly. The second thing to do is to try and reset your password by clicking Forgot Password. The third thing to do is contact support and tell them that you have forgotten your information. Hope this helps. 4-5 years ago was before the game was released... Well, it was released 4 years, 3 months ago. But you get the idea. Perhaps you only played the public beta? Go to your login screen and click on the link to Create Account or Add Access Key. Then select Add the Access Key to an existing Guild Wars account and put in your login information. Then you will just enter your new access key. As long as the game key has not been used by anyone else, you can simply add it to your trial account it will then unlock the game permanently and you will retain everything you did during your trial period. -- Wyn talk 08:11, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Characters sorting

On my log-in screen, my characters were listed by creation date (meaning I had the "Sort : None" option). However, when I created a fifth character, they suddenly all stopped being at the right place O__O Before, it was like 1st char/2nd char/3rd char... now it is like 3rd char/1st char/blank/2nd char/blank... you get the idea. The Complete Collection Edition

First of all i'm from israel so i don't have a "good" english

I bought the platinum edition (GW Prophecies + EOTN) and I want to buy the complete collection (GW Prophecies + Factions + NightFall + EOTN) If I'll use the activation code of the complete collection on the platinum could I use the activation code on another account? Firstly, please sign your comments. And i think the answer is no, as once an account key is used it cannot be reused anywhere else. Using a complete collection code on an account with Prophecies and EOTN already will just add Factions and Nightfall, and the account key will become used. Shadow Runner 10:53, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

connection problems

when i click my gw shortcut it pulls it up and says its connectinng to arena net but it stays at 0% and never brings up my game i have a good internet connection but is a wireless connection to satellite internet any suggestions??

Sometimes, the Account Support Team can help in deciphering an access key. If you can get a good, clear copy, attach it to a Support Ticket and ask for the team's assistance. Alternately, you can call them (1-512-225-6359; Mon-Fri from 12pm to 5pm, Central) and they may be able to help you on the phone. Thirdly, you could physically mail the access key (paper) to the office and they will do their best to figure out your key in that way. Best of luck! -- Gaile 01:44, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that is another way to install the game. You can download it off the official website here and enter your access key after you install it. Since you're on dial up, I suggest you download the entire game by using the command line -image or else you'll have to wait a long time for areas to load every time you go to a new area. --Silver Edge 17:32, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Since you have the DVD already, downloading 3-4 GB of data from the Internet is... not advised. Just click the My Computer icon on your desktop and click the drive you put the DVD in and it should start. If not, just click on Setup.exe. hi all, sorry to hassle you. (long time reader- first time poster)

my question.

two days ago i had a nasty laptop crash.... took the lappy into the shop and they cleared it/factory restore... all good. BUT

when i try to run the GW client, it asks me to download 3GB again, but i looked in my program files/guild wars folder and the DAT file is still there with the 3GB....

how do i get it to recognise this?

also the GW stuff is not present when i look into add/remove programs (it was before the restore)

please help, my brothers and i play heaps and i wish to join them again...

Instead of downloading and installing the client, you should be able to "reinstall" by running the "GW.exe" file within the guild wars folder (I use this to play via an external hard drive). The client should then recognize that the .dat file is there, and relatively complete (you'll have to download any new game updates since you last played). Yeah, you can install from the disk, all of your info (char/items/etc) is stored on the servers, not your computer. You won't need the key, just use your "old" login information once you install the client. --Freedom Bound 12:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

You might want to look up the -image command too, so you don't have to spend ages downloading files each time to enter a new zone. Biscuits 15:44, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

What you should do is move the GW.dat file that's in your GW directory to your desktop, then reinstall from your disk. After it's reinstalled, move the gw.dat file from your desktop back into the new Guild Wars folder. This should allow you to not have to download everything again, as your old dat file has all the update, maps, etc. Just make sure you move it out of the GW folder BEFORE you reinstall off your disks, or you will simply overwrite it. -- Wyn talk 23:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

my account was suspended for 3 days for supposidely for my name i chose for my character. why was it suspended and if it was an inappropriate name why dont they say something at the time i pick it?

Invalid Email address

hello my name is michael, I'am trying to login into my game but I always get this message saying invalid email adress. what can I do to resolve this issue? I already made the account with ncsoft. It says I'am verified on the website, but when i try to login the game i get that message everytime.

If you purchased the game through the NCSoft store, and made an account with NCSoft, you should use the account name they provided you (username@ncsoft) rather than your email address. -- Wyn talk 01:26, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
