Talk:Anthem of Weariness
At release[edit]
Nerfed to 8 duration, 10 recharge.
In a 12vs12(AB) you see the fight may come to a mob vs mob and you see a Paragon in the midst, kill that insolent bastard first. A Paragon spamming Anthem of Weariness(or any other allies shout like Crippling Anthem) on a mob constantly is quite bothersome.--ShadowFog 01:12, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Skill Tweaks 07/26/07[edit]
- Anthem of Weariness: 10r -> 8r please put feedback for new numbers here. ~Izzy @-'---- 23:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Seems fair. Don't think it changes much, but it's not like it'll hurt Patccmoi 02:09, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- I like the skill as it is, too. Nice way to make all attackers afflict one more condition and trigger refrains. --Longasc 20:52, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Fair skill, not over powered, not under powered. but maybe another effect? something like 5-15 extra dmg on already weakened foes so it doesn't lose it's usefulness after it's first use? Just please, make sure this works on allies, not like anthem of fury which doesn't work on them :( this is a bit off topic but I would really like to see all the other chants moved so they effect allies too, that was a pretty hard nerf with moving stand your ground and never give up to only party members. --Lou-Saydus 05:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe something along the lines of Searing Flames; some bonus damage if they're already weakened. 07:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please change name to Anthem of Weakness or something less confusing. Miss Velvetine 21:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Good idea, but not absolutely required. The couple skills with "Wearying" or some variant in their names imply weakness to self, like the paragon and dervish attack skills, but it's not exactly a rule at this point. -- Marand 02:39, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Not really underpowered, especially in PvE where moe damage is taken as a reult of the basic weapon damage of an enemy (which gets scale down with weakness) than in PvP. However, it does seems to allow non-elite cover conditioning everywhere, in a way that anthem of flame simply doesn't. --Ckal Ktak 13:25, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

- Could do some cool stuff with Fragility now...Crippling Anthem, Anthem of Flame, Anthem of Weariness, Poison Tip Signet, Wounding Strike, Sundering Weapon, Ebon Dust Aura. Trigger Fragility 7 times for 119 at 12, add the 100 from Deep Wound, the damage from the strike, the minus armor it could be cool...Although COMPLETELY impractical. - It seems to me that you underestimate Weakness if you think this skill needs a damage boost. Weakness does more than just lessen damage you know...Nicky Silverstar 14:27, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- If its a paragon skill it must be nerfed in some way... it wouldnt feel right if it didnt 76.26.189.65 09:24, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Original skill feedback[edit]
Meh. Nothing special IMO Rakeman 03:03, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Not bad, not good either. Anthem of Cracked Armor would've been nicer. Sirocco 05:25, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Another skill to trigger refrains. 203.217.0.53 05:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Stack with Crippling Anthem and coordinate with a Hammer war for a spike makes this a sexy skill every 10 seconds. Beautiful thing about anthems (apart from refrain triggering) is they give things like an (Apply) poisoned Distracting Shot or an Eviscerate another condition to stack. --Semantic 13:55, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
I can see this being heavily used by BP teams doing tomb runs. With all the grasps weakened, there is no risk of your meatwall collapsing. Might make it boring easy, well the melee parts at least. Dryders have always been the worst problem anyway. Backsword 15:24, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
I like it! :-) Weakness is very useful for many reasons I won't go into. Just think of using this in GvG and weakening half the opposing team with just 1 skill...Nicky Silverstar 08:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Meh, I could only see this being used with double para midline. Just to have some stacking ability with AoF. Otherwise, not great. Readem Sorry, I'll stop trolling now. 20:54, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- If your build can take on a caster, take Anthem of Weariness, with your high armor, all of your allies and/or teammates, will deal Weakness plus any spiker, like the Dervish, will reduce their damage against you(80AL) to almost 10-20, Ive had the experience in AB where Warriors and Assassins deals from 0-10 damage and Dervishes to almost the same. Weakness is a powerful condition against melee plus you can prematurely cast the anthem to have it ready as soon they get the condition out.--ShadowFog 13:54, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
AoW+Heavy Blow?[edit]
If I use this, then attack with Heavy Blow, will the target be knocked down? I can't test this myself, but I just got that idea. Or if you use Auspicious Blow, will you gain the energy? 70.126.107.48 17:57, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
just tested it worked maybe a bit late but anyways it does
Withering Aura[edit]
obviously related, but I'll ask for comments here first. btw, I won't bother watching this page so just put it there if you agree --Chaos Messenger 18:53, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Does this effect minions?!?[edit]
I was wondering if it effects minions...
- The chant does affect minions (for purposes of Leadership), but because minions have no attack skills, they will never trigger its effect and cause weakness. Felix Omni 03:10, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

- It may affect spirits' attack skills, though. MithTalk 22:50, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- It does. I've used it with Crippling Anthem for this very purpose before. Having all your spirits constantly apply Cripple and Weakness is pretty sexy. It's a shame Anthem of Flame is different from those two and only works on party members, because if that worked on Spirits too, that'd probably be enough for people to finally consider Anthem spam viable. Anthem of Envy works too, but I find the recharge is too long and the conditional part of it not too accepting to make it really viable for the purpose, plus the extra damage isn't that much. But 3 seconds of burning is a total of +42 damage (as opposed to the +20~ish on Anthem of Envy). Togther they would have been nice however.82.11.226.30 17:34, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
